This is not a defense of Trump, but more of an observation. He initially caught the deep state off guard, however, they adapted. I knew he had been "had" when all his efforts to get us out of Syria were thwarted. To this day we still have troops in Eastern Syria doing God knows what other than being targets. Ostensibly they are there to "protect the oil" which does not belong to us but rather does belong to the legitimate Assad government and the Syrian people.

I think his instincts were right (Trump) but he never was able to fully seize control and steer the ship away from trouble. Half measures like finally doing something about H1B's (and only temporarily, and under cover of COVID) are nice but don't change the overall failure to do what it takes. He's up against a nasty set of war pigs and Wall St. criminals and you don't let up on those folks until they're literally dead or in prison.
