Let's all hear about Floyd, who the coroner said had a significant dose of fentanyl in his system when he died.  The notes on the coroner's report show that the level in his blood was more than three times that are often sufficient to produce death.

Oh by the way, opiate overdose often produces a crazed and physically-agitated mental state just before it produces respiratory and subsequent cardiac arrest.  Are you sure the cops killed him again or was he, for all intents and purposes, already dead?  Good question, considering that the autopsy disclosed no damage to the structures of his neck.  Whether the cops killed him or he died of an OD is an open question (and one that should be resolved through a trial in a civilized nation) but the often-repeated claim that he had "turned his life around" after multiple violent felonies, including threatening to kill a pregnant woman for which he was convicted -- is clowned by the fact that he had fentanyl in him -- and no known reason for a prescription to take same.

The facts are, as disclosed by science, that he was indeed likely a frequent, repeated and current abuser of said drugs or someone poisoned him.  I'll take odds on the former.

Now is being a drug addict an excuse for manslaughter or worse?  No, although if you abuse opioids for long enough they'll eventually get you without anyone else's help.  The reason is that the more you use them the more you need to get stoned, yet the lethal dose moves up less-quickly.  Thus if you like such drugs you eventually get into a "coffin corner" sort of problem where the amount you need to get high is dangerously close or even exceeds the amount that will kill you.  But finding such a level of said drugs in your system when you expire leads to perfectly-valid questions about the reason for your demise.  You can't murder someone who's already in the process, through the actions of their own hand, of imminently becoming dead.

The lie advanced by "Black Lives Matter" was on full display this weekend across the nation.  As just one example Chicago had 14 people killed and nearly 100 shot over the weekend, with 137 shot in the last week.  Anyone care to take a guess at the race of the people shot?  Oh, you mean of the dead people blacks are roughly 15 times more-likely to be shot and killed than whites?  And of the shooters, not all that different -- among those known, which is a whole different problem of course, since it seems that identifying and locking up the shooters is a wee problem.

And it's not like the cops are catching all these people; hell, only 3% of carjackings lead to arrests.  Oh, who's doing the carjacking -- and the shooting?  Is that white people again?

Who runs the Chicago cops?  What's his race?  How about the mayor?  That's the chain of command.

Do Black Lives Matter?  If they do can I please have an explanation why one dead apparent junkie is worth rioting, looting and all manner of protest but nearly 100 people shot and 14 dead in one city alone over one weekend, nearly all of them black and nearly all of them shot and killed by other black people, is not?

What in the Hell are you smoking and why is the rest of the nation allowing local governments and nearly all of the S&P 500 to get behind and force upon everyone what is quite-clearly nothing more than pure Marxism?  Do you realize what happens after, when power is consolidated, right?  Every one of the people who "corroborated" with these folks will be killed; your usefulness will have expired.

You don't read history, do you?  This isn't the first time that playbook has been run.

You want to get rid of the cops eh?  Sounds good to me.  You fine folks who like to shoot each other have right at it with no law enforcement at all.  We'll see how long you have food and other necessities delivered into your areas when there are no cops.  Got a fire, perhaps accidental and perhaps not?  You don't really think the fire department is going to show up and put it out when people are shooting at them, do you?  Let's remember that what got "CHOP"ped over the weekend was apparently three people getting shot in a little six-block area.  Oh, and there were no cops of course and none let in either, so there have also been no arrests.  Do we dare count the rapes, assaults and thefts?

Naw, it's all good and it's Whitey-McWhite responsible for all of it.  Never mind who in their right mind believes that in a NASCAR team track garage, one of if not the highest-security areas within the boundaries of the track property for obvious reasons along with the plethora of cameras everywhere, "someone" magically made a noose appear?

What's more-likely -- someone has a cloak of invisibility or we have another Smollett style scam on our hands?

I'll give you odds on that one.

Incidentally if "Black Lives Matter", just for ****s-and-grins, would you please explain to me all of the following?

  • The sacking of General Grant's statute by "BLM".  May I note that in addition to being a Union General during the Civil War Grant also, after the war, went into the South and under force of arms made damn sure all the former slaves were freed.  In  other words, the exact opposite of a racist who hates black people, and he was willing to back up what he believed with armed force too.

  • Why aren't they tearing down every monument and edifice of Muhammad yet they want any edifice of Jesus removed?  Muhammad was the one of the most-prolific slave-owners and traffickers in history.  See a pattern here yet between these and Grant?  They don't want slavery to go away -- they want to enslave you!

  • The State and City of New York?  Named after the Duke of York, of course.  Who owned The Royal African Company, which, I remind you, was responsible for the shipping of more black slaves into the Americas than any other institution, and was noted for its extraordinary brutality.  Has "BLM" insisted on canceling Britain and both the State of New York and New York City?  Oh wait, there's another example glorifying slavers.  Still can't see the pattern?

  • You want to remove Aunt Jemima from syrup bottles and rename the brand?  Really?  Do you have any idea who that woman is on the label?  A literal former slave, she parleyed her love of tasty food into a fortune.  A real fortune.  She was one of the first freed black Americans to become a millionaire, and in the 1920s when she did so, her fortune would be approximately equal to $15 million in purchasing power today.  She was given exactly none of her money or fame through anything other than her own hard work, effort and intelligence -- no "set-asides", "quotas" or "affirmative action."  If there is someone who black people should celebrate on a literal daily basis as a shining beacon of success, a person who proved that intelligence, hard work and personal drive can indeed bring personal prosperity irrespective of the conditions one is born into it's Nancy Green, the actual woman in question.  Arguing for removing her visage and name, along with the brand, is arguing for the cancellation of her proved record of extraordinary personal success through hard work by black people!  YOU STILL CAN'T SEE THE PATTERN?

  • If children cannot be held accountable for the criminal and outrageous acts of their parents, as the left, Marxists, Democrats and BLM assert with regard to "DREAM"ers, then neither can the several-times removed great-grandchildren or even further removed descendants be held accountable for their great-grandparent's actions with regard to slavery, segregation or any other act prior to the Civil Rights Act in the United States which made all such acts unlawful.  Which, of course means, no reparations, no special set-asides, no quotas, no "affirmative action" and all such previous acts that date after the passage of the Civil Rights Act are and were in fact unlawful thefts which must be immediately repaid in full, to the penny, with interest.  If you disagree and refuse to pay said debts then by your own standard every "DREAM"er is accountable in full for their parents unlawful acts, as are any and all of their offspring, every single one of them is in fact an unlawful enemy invader and their offspring are not citizens and every single one of them and their children must get out of OUR nation right the **** now, without exception.

You can't have any of this both ways and only a drug-addled, pea-brained Marxist operative would argue otherwise.

If such positions are what "Gen Z" believes in then **** every one of them.  Such an extreme level of insanity is incompatible with actually making and maintaining things -- you know, that which leads to edible food, drinkable water, sewage treatment and electricity?

The problem with the Marxists is that their general premise is that anyone in said government is entitled to "Special Privileges" and they eventually use those privileges to kill or enslave everyone else.  Think not?  Again -- why is it that both the Chicago Chief of Police and Mayor are black but..... Black Lives Matter except for all the black dudes shooting other black dudes on a daily basis in the city, never mind the above list.

Get rid of government unions and incompetent or thuggish cops, teachers, DMV employees and damn near everyone else suddenly has to either work for a living in an honest fashion or lose their job.  Get rid of "Qualified Immunity" (which, I remind you, is unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment -- just one of many abusive Supreme Court rulings, like the two most-recent ones, which should have decades ago led to the court being sacked wholesaleand essentially all of the rest of the problem goes away.  The case in Georgia is specifically outrageous; either a Taser is a lethal weapon, in which case pointing one at someone is cause to be shot immediately or it isn't in which case it isn't.  The status of what a Taser is does not change depending on who is holding it.  It is precisely that sort of blatantly unconstitutional load of bull**** that leads directly to these problems yet BLM not only doesn't want to fix that problem THEY WANT THE EXEMPTIONS FOR THEMSELVES AND YOU TO BE THE ONE UNDER THE BOOT -- OR DEAD.

Granny knows damn well every single one of those jackasses is crazy by the way, and she doesn't give a rat's ass about their politics.  Go ahead and burn, loot and destroy your own town full of Marxists -- it all seems good right up until you're out of food and the truck drivers won't come to bring more when you're shooting, raping, robbing, assaulting and committing arson.  That's the problem with anarchy and Gen-Z style stupidity as advanced by CNN, pMSNBC, AOC and others; it produces nothing, you can't eat nothing and soon all you'll have left is cannibalism and ****ting in the middle of the road.  The rest of us will watch in bemusement while your 37 genders attempt to work through that little problem, and right about then you might figure out the Marxists never did give a damn about you.

Just don't try to bring any of that crap where there are still people who haven't put enough fentanyl into their brain muddled with so much Marxism that the head of either their penis or clitoris has more functional neurons than their cranium.  Feel free to wave all the signs you want (unlike you folks the rest of us still believe in the First Amendment, no matter how insane your positions and viewpoints) but if you attempt to loot, burn, steal, "cancel" or attack people things are not going to go the way you thought they might.  See, we not only believe in the First Amendment we also believe in the other nine as well, including the next one on the list.

The district attorney is black, the Lt.Gov is black, the Cook county president is black. It looks to me like they (blacks) control almost all the political positions and yet itz always racism.

Meanwhile in Minneapolis, epicenter of this BLM rally, over the weekend 12 people got shot (1 died) outside of some bars and restaurants. Not one mention of the shooter(s) and their description in local media but the video taken on the scene showed a mostly black crowd. Then, before they could mop that scene up another person was shot & killed in another part of the City, black victim. Again, no description of the shooter. Since there hasn't been any new riots & looting protests I can only presume those black lives don't matter.

Its is clear that it is a political movement. They want power, social justice, and money. It has nothing to do with the truth or making America a better country.

I wonder how long it will take for them to take over the democrat party? Maybe it is already too late?

Our world it totally upside down...

Truth and facts mean next to nothing anymore and preconceptions seem to take their place. What hope do we have for rational words, rational discussions, rational behaviors, much less mutual understanding across racial lines?

Most also conveniently forget that New York City was also a nexus of slave importation, brokering as well as ownership and employment of various peoples. In the early nineties there was a federal courthouse construction that revealed an overlooked slave burial ground. Interesting, how does one have a slave burial ground without slaves living and working there?

Being a prisoner of this city at the time i remember all of the hand-wringing by NY liberals as they were actually saying that New York never had slavery and that it was only a Southern thing. Most did not know that it was actually much denser and prevalent than in the South. This lie was even being protected by the educated and leadership. It got kind of ugly and almost led to the burial ground being built over. They were going to do something that crummy to perpetuate their lie. It was only begrudgingly admitted that New York had slaves and its role was rather extensive. Even the NY Times had to finally give in. The consumer internet was in its infancy so a lot of the lying, debate, covering up and grand stupidity was kind of memory holed unless deep searched.

NY is the liberal center and must be protected at all costs. Did anyone find it odd that when this most recent piece of **** died, his supporters did not have their official protests in Minnesota as would make sense, but organized almost immediately in NYC. Yes, they rioted and looted there, but made the political stake and appearances in NYC. This was the primary for the cancer growing in the country. Things that we saw here decades ago became new in the rest of the country. We tried to warn you. NYC has some special status in the liberal world, hell even the Russian communists trace their origins to its Brighton Beach community.

Here is a little snip from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Bu....
Quote:
African Burial Ground National Monument is a monument at Duane Street and African Burial Ground Way (Elk Street) in the Civic Center section of Lower Manhattan, New York City. Its main building is the Ted Weiss Federal Building at 290 Broadway.[4] The site contains the remains of more than 419 Africans buried during the late 17th and 18th centuries in a portion of what was the largest colonial-era cemetery for people of African descent, some free, most enslaved.[5] Historians estimate there may have been as many as 10,000[6]20,000 burials in what was called the "Negroes Burial Ground" in the 1700s. The five to six acre site's excavation and study was called "the most important historic urban archaeological project in the United States."[7] The Burial Ground site is New York's earliest known African-American "cemetery"; studies show an estimated 15,000 African American people were buried here.[8]

The discovery highlighted the forgotten history of enslaved Africans in colonial and federal New York City, who were integral to its development. By the American Revolutionary War, they constituted nearly a quarter of the population in the city. New York had the second-largest number of enslaved Africans in the nation after Charleston, South Carolina. Scholars and African-American civic activists joined to publicize the importance of the site and lobby for its preservation. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1993 and a National Monument in 2006 by President George W. Bush.

In 2003 Congress appropriated funds for a memorial at the site and directed redesign of the federal courthouse to allow for this. A design competition attracted more than 60 proposals for a design. The memorial was dedicated in 2007 to commemorate the role of Africans and African Americans in colonial and federal New York City, and in United States history. Several pieces of public art were also commissioned for the site. A visitor center opened in 2010 to provide interpretation of the site and African-American history in New York.

Regarding the current protests, unrest and overall Black left wing activists. The sad thing is that we will not get mass invasions into areas that would love to go 2A on them. These kind of things **** up the same areas that they always do or slightly scrape some nearby areas. This is not a movement that will form a unified wave or simultaneous, unified and committed by separate mass groups. This is the beauty of the thing from the Marxist's perspective. It is not bad enough for us to eliminate it, but it shifts power.

The communists have done a very good job since their long walk through the American institutions. They are smart enough to never give the majority of Americans the justification for slaughtering them, because we would win.

They win by losing.

How screwed up is that ?

The thing that scares me in all this is the purity tests that are coming to the workplace. Attend your required racial sensitivity training, and at the end, here, sign this pledge. Don't worry, it only says that you will try to be better and do better, and that you will use your priveleged position to benefit others. Then, months later, oh look here, you SIGNED this document acknowledgeing that you are a racist. Isn't that YOUR signature? Well, since this is an At Will employment state, there is the door, and no, there will be no severance.

By the way, racist, isn't your son trying to get into college? I am sure that college would be interested to know that your son's father was fired for being a racist.

If you don't think that is where we are headed, go back and read Solzhenitsyn.

Going after religious symbols now? That's about as brilliant marketing to gain support as the slogan to "Defund the Police." This behavior is predictable -- they are emboldened by victory and and press their agenda even further. This has echoes of the Cultural Revolution in China, where Buddhist statues were destroyed. Millions of people were killed during that period in China. Just wait till the left crosses one of the red lines such as implementing more bans on firearms. I forgot to mention that co-mingled with the reasonable (but short) segment on Martha M's show on Faux Snooze yesterday she talked with a guest from law enforcement who referred to possessing illegal guns in Chicago being a "gateway crime" to murder. She let that characterization stand without any challenge or push back.

A few weeks ago, Sarah Parcak, an Egyptologist at the University of Alabama put out a tutorial to teach rioters the best way to tear down statues. Liberal/progressive bias on college campuses is nothing new - it has been true for centuries. However, in schools that receive state subsidies there has been an organized effort in recent decades to squash free speech and alternative points of view. One of the recent examples is the ongoing attack on the Cornell Law professor who made posts about BLM that included challenging their famous slogan "Hands up don't shoot," which never actually occurred in the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson. Perhaps it's time to #DefundtheUniversities.

The race at Talladega was the first race at which paid admission spectators were allowed, albeit in limited numbers, after the ban on displaying the Confederate battle flag. (Well, NASCAR banned that flag ten years ago, and display of the flag was reduced but not even close to eliminated. So they banned it again this year and said, essentially, "This time we mean it.") On Sunday, when the race was rained out, there were more flags than ever, but they were in campgrounds outside the speedway property and NASCAR could do nothing about it. Cars and trucks drove around the property all day, in the rain, displaying the flag.

As to the noose, I've been in those garages, many times. The overhead doors are manual pull down doors, and every one of them has a pull rope dangling from it for use to pull it down from the fully raised position. Almost all of those pull downs have a loop tied on the end to facilitate pulling on the heavy door. Interesting that no picture of the "noose" found in Bubba Wallace's garage has been published. I suspect it is because it would be one of those door pull downs, and any NASCAR fan would recognize it as such immediately.

I suspect NASCAR was embarrased by the failure of its flag ban and needed something to make itself look good to compensate in case the flag ban failure became public.

The best article I've read in terms of breaking down the BLM political movement. The vast majority of people who walk with BLM have NO IDEA what the political agenda really is. It's actually quite scary.

Remember, BLM was created by 3 women 2 of which are lesbians with 1 being married to a trans. They are openly anti-family in the biblical sense. They are openly Marxist with their 1 leader proclaiming that. They are openly militant and name Assata Shakur as their inspiration.

While, I, personally, have supported causes to thwart oppression, this is not one of them. This isn't about equality. It's a power grab plain and simple.

The big issue is that the average Joe has the attention span of a toddler and is incapable of doing even the smallest amount of research. Furthermore, the average college student get inundated with Marxist thought and propaganda on a daily basis and is easily swayed.

As KD so aptly points out, if ANY OF THEM had an inkling of what happens next given history, they'd not be on the side of BLM.

Anyway, thank you KD for another fine ticker.

Black Lives Matter? Yes, during elections, then not so much.

Black Lives Matter? Yes, when trying to expand social services.

So many black people have a deep and rich heritage of adding to and making this nation Great. Where are your leaders? Why are you allowing black thugs to destroy what your forefathers/mothers built with blood sweat and tears.

Black Lives Matter? Apparently as long as they are being useful idiots. DON'T get me started on the stupid "We're on your side" soy boi whites idiots whose usefulness will have expired before the black lives.

Black Lives Matter? Great question.

@Asimov..."Parroting the beliefs of the people around you are all that matter"

Agreed, that said, you might want to check out a book I read years ago, its titled "Life at the Bottom." Its a must read. Published in the early 2000s it paints an insightful, but very painful picture of the underclass, its emptiness, agonies, violence and moral squalor through a collection of essays.

Ambition and hard work are foreign concepts, dismissed out of hand. Conduct is unrestrained either by law or convention. Human relations are kaleidoscopic and serve only the passions of the moment. Violence reigns. These people have simply forgotten how to live. Their lives represent, quite simply, the rejection of civilization.

Am I describing Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, LA, etc. today, yes it could, but no Im not. These words were used to describe the white underclass in Britain years ago and are examples of the social destructiveness of the welfare state and how things can be turned around.

In both Britain and the United States, politicians and activists claim to have solutions and those policies have only made the problems worse than before!

I had a nice discussion yesterday with a liberal friend. One of my points was that three deaths are mainly cited as the reasons for the riots. I stated the three were two guys with a bad history as long as my arm, and one innocent woman. I further clearly stated that the middle-class should have rioted over 20 years ago over exactly what happened to Breonna Taylor. If WE would have rioted when we should have she would still be alive and we would not have the warrior cops of today.

I suspect that is definitely true in NY/NJ and everywhere they already had a lot of cases and deaths. The areas of the country that have not had their surge of cases will do so at some point and it will be just about over. Going forward I do expect fewer deaths, even among the vulnerable, due to better treatment protocols and yes, less use of ventilators.
