feel better Karl.

4000mg of l-Lysine 2x per day works. after you get better go down to 3000mg for the rest of the winter. has an excellent antiviral effect. used by ER nurses for a long time.

It's so ****ed up that it's not fixable anymore, so just live with it.

I've taken up music again, bluegrass guitar, upright bass & banjo. Spending time jamming with friends. Priceless

It's winter so my MGB is in the garage on jackstands getting new brakes, exhaust and body work. I work on it as I want to and should have it ready for spring.

Spend tonight at the range shooting a silhouette event, Ruger released a new 5.7x28 pistol last month and I do need a new gun.

A good group of guys I have breakfast with every day.

My other toys I can't talk about, Life is great!

My point, I'm 63 next month, I have 10 to 13 good years left and maybe another 20 years of so-so health wise after that.

Karl, it's been a good run, enjoy yourself. It's so ****ed up that it's not fixable anymore, so just live with it.

BEFORE YOU SWALLOW A WHOLE BUNCH OF MEDS, I thought I'd volunteer my own life long remedy : HEAT THERAPY. Tools: a hot water bottle (or a gallon plastic bottle-anything with a large exchange surface). Potential side effects: BURNS on skin, put in adequate layer(s) between heat and skin, then remove them as water cools down. Probably better to keep the heat lower but for longer time....optimize for best results. Get into bed with the same gear you would use while camping overnight in snow and you should be sweating a bit within a few hours. Drink HOT: green tea with lemon or broth. Sleeping: a plus. Fasting, likely a plus as well.

I have never taken any cold-flu meds (my liver has never been a fan).

So far so good this season, especially considering that 3/4 of people around me are coughing their lungs off and sneezing... except 2 weeks ago when I had the suspicious feeling of being too cold, considering ambient temp and what I was wearing. When I came back home I suddenly started shivering and actually shaking uncontrollably for a good 2 minutes, this had never happened to me in my entire life, that was just amazing!!. The only other symptom I had was a slight lung infection. Applied my favorite heat therapy remedy and was back to "as new" in a couple of days (without need to take time off from anything).

Keep the hot water bottle for camping in the mountains: nothing like getting into a hot sleeping bag.

most Americans are in despair, even the ones with money, power, and/or celebrity. when the spark goes out of a person's spirit all that's left is a breathing corpse. almost all Americans know we're in serious trouble individually and as a nation. but, without a spark of inspiration or truth burning in our Spirit to drive us on most of us are terrified to make a move .. make a sound. (why do you think all those "walking dead", vampire, demonic possession TV shows and movies are so popular. they are a mirror. most Americans see themselves in the zombies they see on TV ???)
can you fight that?
it's a spiritual crisis. when people feel dead at their root all the other chit spills out of that - deficit spending, the collapsing economy, addictions without end, immigrant invasion, needless wars, bankers swindling millions of Citizens (and getting away with it?), politicians pissing on the Constitution, Americans rolling over and playing dead, saying nothing in the face of outrage after outrage, and more.
when the spiritual rot has gone this far you can only pull a few individuals (promising individuals) back from the brink. the rest aren't going to turn back from their death no matter what you do. they're going to march (sleepwalk ?) right off the cliff.
folks have to find their Spirit again.
save yourself and a few others you care about.

400B in 3 months is on pace for 1.6T... Last year was 1.2T? That's a bit more than an 11% increase. Holy Moly. Total--Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is at 392,514 after a 'good' month.

Debt to the penny link:

Math Karl did: 1) Oct 1st Total Public Debt Outstanding: 22,798,479,742,321.92 (This seems ridiculous to even look at) subtract from 2) Dec 31st: 23,201,380,134,806.73-> 402,900,392,484.81

Steelpiston71 - It's not that simple because there are a couple of months that show up which are typically positive. You see December (that deficit is small); that's normal due to corporate tax payments. Ditto for April on the individual side. Then there are the quarterly payment marker times too.

So will this track at $1.6T? Probably not, but I bet it does track close to $1.4.

Winding it down.

Have a hot toddy! Best way to fight a cold
cup hot water
1 oz whiskey
2 tsp honey
2 tsp lemon juice
Pour boiling water into a mug and leave it for a minute for the mug to warm up.
Pour that water off, then mix all above ingredients into the warm mug.
Drink it as hot as you can handle. I hope you feel better soon.
