The significance of the Hong Kong protesters is way underrated.

This is President Mud Monster Trump's chance to send out one tweet that can change the world. Really, one Tweet, right here and right now, defaces the Chinese Communist Party.

This is Trump's Berlin Wall moment when he could stand up and say to Xi, "tear down this Orwellian Chinese FireWall and let free speech in and out of China. Let people speak their minds like they do here in America - even when they speak against a President - just let them be free to speak"...

President Mud Monster could slam the living **** out of the CCP by pointing out their glaringly obvious faults. This would cause the Chinese to kill each other and themselves just to "save face".. Trump could play the ultimate trump card right here and now and run the table...

Destroying the American Empire's greats enemy without firing a shot would be the biggest favor Trump could do for mankind.

If Trump wants to change the world, he should announce we WILL NOT DO BUSINESS with a human-rights abusing dictatorship. Total embargo against China unless they have open elections. Devastate their economy like North Korea and Iran unless they do business fairly.

Of course, he will have to wait until after the election because every fortune 500 company will scream about profit and job losses.

Oh **** them with a chainsaw @Stee_man -- I'm tired of this bull**** and frankly, the idea of $200 Nike shoes being "oh so disadvantaged" if you can't use slave labor to make them is horse**** of the highest order.

Gee, another $2 worth of labor in said shoes would kill them. NOT!

Hey Karl, maybe Bernie Sanders can make Nike shoes part of Obamacare. You'll get your sport shoes for $5, while gov't pays the $195 subsidy (which increases 40% a year). Or $19,995 if handed out at emergency rooms.

Hitler's people apparently apparently had a *HUGE* surplus of shoes, judging by the pictures after the war. There were great big piles of tens of thousands of them just left out in the weather to ruin.

(Sorry, my absolute lack of filter leaked out and dribbled around the thread.)

Lebron KingJames and friends fellaciate Phil Knight on a daily basis. How do I know this? Ive never seen Lebron demand a shoe factory be built in Akron OH. Ive never seen Jordan demand one be built in Chicago. Commie Krappernick? Are you kidding me?

They all have the power to put Nike on blast but instead choose to be company men that get special treatment by Hollywood. Lots of pizza and hotdog parties.

China isn't exactly full of surplus resources. Load, unload, load, unload is labor and energy too. Shoe parts are mass produced. With automation, does it take an hour to make a pair of shoes? They could be made in the USA with not much additional cost and much less handling.

Mann: Handling is, apparently, less of an issue than you'd think.

Noticed any chicken packages that say "grown and slaughtered in the USA"? Most of them do now.

They conveniently leave out the fact that after they were slaughtered, they were frozen, shipped to china, processed, then shipped back.

And then you can buy the legs and thighs for as little as $0.49/lb at times.

Soo.... Apparently moving them to the other side of the world and back doesn't add much to the cost when you're into serious quantity.

On the topic of shoes... I've had one pair of nike in the last 15 years. They were given to me. I won't be buying any more because they were falling apart in less than 6 months. And I didn't do anything abusive to them either, they just sucked. I'll stick with sketchers till somebody convinces me another brand will last longer.
