Oberlin College: DESTROY IT

Let's play the same game as the left.

Oberlin College has now been found responsible in a court of law for false accusations of racism.

A jury nailed Oberlin College and the college’s vice president and dean of students, Meredith Raimondo, with an $11 million penalty for siding with three black students who claimed they were racially profiled at a bakery in 2016. The case got press and there were massive protests targeting the bakery – and not just by students, either.

The dean distributed a flyer, claiming the bakery had a history of racism. And he encouraged a boycott. The bakery went through hell, for obvious reasons.

And then today the jury nailed them with a maximum punitive damage award as well -- another $22 million plus attorney fees and costs.

Those who worked at Oberlin and remained after this happened have voluntarily thrown their hat in with the Dean and the school itself.

Those who were enrolled and remained enrolled after this happened have voluntarily done so as well.

I therefore call for all persons who were enrolled and remained so after this incident occurred to have any earned "credentials" put into the paper shredder; in other words, render this "college" useless as an academic credential forevermore into the future.  Destroy the college and all of its graduates.

Extend that to the Dean and all of the faculty and staff who remained and did not immediately quit.

We the people have the right to take this judgement rendered by a jury and extend it by finding that conduct unacceptable, making clear we will not associate with those who falsely claim "racism" as a means of attempting to coerce people into not prosecuting or otherwise acting in a lawful manner against those who commit CRIMES.

That's what's involved here folks -- the students originally involved committed criminal acts against the bakery.  The bakery acted within the law to have those students punished.  The college attempted to extort the bakery by claiming they were racists.

The first rule if someone attempts to extort you is that you never pay and you never do whatever the extorting individual or organization demands.  Ever.  You either tell them to pound sand and walk away or, if you so choose, you go after them using every legal tool at your disposal.  Extortion is both a civil and criminal act, and if any sort of interstate communication tool is utilized -- such as the Internet, the phone or the mails -- it's a federal offense.

As a body politic we have every right to decide under the basic principle of freedom of association -- which includes the right not to associate -- that we assign zero value to any such institution and anyone who works for it, now or evermore into the future.

The correct example to set here is to apply such overwhelming and destructive, but lawful, response so that others do not dare try the same thing as they know damn well that the very same lawful retribution can be turned on them.

PS: Covington Kentucky Kid up next..... and there's going to be ruination coming for a few there too, I suspect....

@Inrem - That endowment is worth zero if their degrees are worth zero, and if anyone who goes to work there permanently destroys their ability, along with that of their entire family, to ever find another job anywhere.

Oberlin is every university in this country. They have been hijacked by leftists, and even in states under GOP control, cucks refuse to clean house.

I'd love to go through my local universities with a wrecking ball. Preening leftoids would be fired, sportsball eliminated, grievance study programs closed, and clawing back millions from scientists who patented inventions that were created on the public dime.

Remember Melissa Click? That c--- was able to get a job, landing at Gonzaga. Another set of graduates I'll never employ.

Oberlin STILL cannot wrap itself around the "Verdict/Judgement"...
Karl you are absolutely correct, Burn it down..

Monetarily that is..
The "Judgement" was WAY too small...

(Sidebar) I'm still surprised that the College wasn't hit with Extortion Charges! ..
That said..
This case Will not go "Federal" on Appeals, The reason 'Why" the College is Claiming this is about 'free speech' (It's not)..

Oberlin's College President Tripled Down in yet another E-mail Blast, post Judgement...

Quote:
Let me be absolutely clear: This is not the final outcome. This is, in fact, just one step along the way of what may turn out to be a lengthy and complex legal process.
..

Full Email Blast..

Quote:

Dear Members of the Oberlin Community,
By now many of you will have heard about the latest development in the Gibsons Bakery lawsuit, a jurys declaration of punitive damages against Oberlin. Let me be absolutely clear: This is not the final outcome. This is, in fact, just one step along the way of what may turn out to be a lengthy and complex legal process. I want to assure you that none of this will sway us from our core values. It will not distract, deter, or materially harm our educational mission, for todays students or for generations to come.
We will take the time we need to thoughtfully consider the course that is in Oberlins best interests. I will update the community as we make these decisions. I am confident that when we resolve this matter, it will look substantially different than it looks today.
We are disappointed in the jurys decisions and the fragmentary and sometimes distorted public discussion of this case. But we respect the integrity of the jury, and we value our relationship with the town and region that are our home. We will learn from this lawsuit as we build a stronger relationship with our neighbors.
This has been a remarkable year for the college and conservatory. There is unprecedented unity around an ambitious new vision for Oberlin. The work of fulfilling that vision is already underway. Long after this lawsuit has receded from memory, that work will shape Oberlins future. I appreciate the contributions so many of you have made, your perspective at this important time, and the commitment you have shown to what matters most for Oberlin.
Sincerely,
Carmen Twillie Ambar
President

You're already screwed Hot dog guy. Gay wheat wouldn't be able to reproduce and it is certainly in no position to recruit. What you need is trans wheat (post reproduction) -lol. But would that be "genetalia" modified? smiley

ON that topic now a "transexual" woman is going after the same Christian baker in Colorado when he refused to make a cake celebrating the change.

This is the third time he has be targetted for legal bullying by this criminal mafia.
----------------

Also Oberlin college was claiming the bakery was only worth 35K. Bakery has been in business since he late 1800s and employes at least 12 people in the community. The students in question we caught stealing.

This college wants to keep people from being able to defend themselves and their property from anyone that is not white.

Burn it to the ground.

Carmen Twillie Ambar is a twisted POS that should be groveling an apology to this Bakery and to all graduates, current students, faculty and trustees of the school for being a grade A a$$hat and idiot. But she will double down and lose again as long as there are people in the jury with 2 functioning neurons in their brains. This bitch should be in the unemployment line. What ever happened to the 3 criminals that started this whole mess?

She's going to fry for her tactics in this case; attempting to NOW impugn the value of the enterprise is one of the dumbest moves I've EVER seen, but it appears it's all she has left.

That's ok -- let her keep digging. I'll wait until her cum-sucking mouth is below grade level and then I'm filling in the hole she dug herself into -- with a Cat D8.

Reading through some comments, (Legal Warfare).
I found this Gem..
Oberlin will have to post a BOND for appeal..
It's a appeal bond. I assume it's required?
Which reads..

Quote:
An Ohio supersedaes bond is a requirement under ORC 2505.09. Pursuant to the statute, a supersedeas bond must be filed by the appellant and run to the appellee, with sufficient sureties and in a sum that is not less than the cumulative total for all claims covered by the final order, judgment, or decree and interest involved. There is a statutory cap to the amount of bond which must be proffered, of fifty million dollars ($50mn).

Oberlin's insurance carriers will not bond for more than their coverage limits. A bonding company is not going to want to be on the hook for tens of millions.
(If at all now, after those Email blast's During AND post Trial)

OR Oberlin would have to post a "Full CASH amount" ???

If Malice is found during "appeals"..
Oh MY!! watch out! smiley

Yes, they'll have to front the appeal bond, and it's basically the entire judgment.

Generally speaking in a civil suit (subject to, in some cases, some cap) you are required to post the entire amount of the judgment to be able to appeal. You can try to cry poverty (there is usually an exception there too) if you truly don't have it, but in this case they do have it.

The reason for this is obvious; on appeal you usually get an automatic stay so if you DIDN'T have to post the judgment as bond then you could expend all of it while running out your chain of appeals, either on fees or simply on booze and chicks! The stay prevents the plaintiff from immediately executing on the judgment (e.g. placing liens on things, if immediate payment is refused attempting to get a writ to attach their bank accounts since they clearly have it, etc) so it would be FAR too simple for someone to blow the cash or get it out of the court's reach via some reason if this wasn't done.

Never mind that you lost; it's manifestly unjust to let you keep the funds AND THE EARNINGS ON THEM over the time of appeal. If you're right you get it back, but the fact is the presumption is against you because you ALREADY LOST. At the same time the plaintiff can't be given the funds because you MIGHT win. The obvious answer is impound them until the appeal is sorted out, so..... yep.

Yeah, theoretically you can be held in contempt if you do that, but civil contempt is worthless if you CAN'T produce the judgment to cure it -- and criminal contempt (jail) can only be enforced for willful refusal to do something you CAN do.

BTW there's another aspect to a punitive damage award that most people do NOT understand.

In virtually every case it voids your insurance coverage.

Nearly ALL insurance policies omit intentionally malicious actions. You can't light your house on fire and then claim on the fire insurance!

Yet punitive damages are intended to punish, not compensate, and unlike the criminal bar in a civil suit you only get them for malicious acts, or those that rise to such a grossly negligent level to be effectively equivalent to actual malice.

Their insurers will deny the claim and while Oberlin will probably sue on that they're nearly-certain (90%+ unless the insurers drew their contracts foolishly, and I bet they didn't) to lose, they won't get injunctive relief as the presumption is on the wrong side, and the insurance company can thus probably avoid having to post the appeal bond, forcing the college to do so, since otherwise the insurance company would have no means to force the college to give it back to them (it's wildly beyond their paid-in premium amount, I'm sure.)

Oberlin certainly showed extreme malice with those Email blasts, I'm certain anyone with common sense & firing neurons can see that..

So this is a question worth asking..
Would Oberlin's Policy with the current carrier be bound to "pay" the Judgement?

OR would they deem that Oberlin acted with Malice.. (refuse to pay)..

I cannot think that a 'Bonding Co. or carrier' would even THINK of covering them on appeal..
Throwing good monies after the Bad..
Plus accounting for Attorneys fees..
Can you Imagine the Crises meetings being Held this Morning at the Ins. Carriers headquarters ATM?
So many questions with so much OPM...

Well unless their insurance is different than any I've ever had in any sort of commercial context I have to expect they just got a denial from whoever their carriers are given the punitive award.

They'd have to sue to try to force them to pay.

Their financials appear to show they have plenty of unencumbered asset, so being able to borrow the funds is not really in question. The real question is whether it makes any sense to do so. Securing a 100% bond is not all that hard; it only costs posting up security of somewhere between 110-125% of whatever the bond is, if you don't feel like posting it in cash! (for the bonding company's fee, of course....) smiley

Quote:

You will not ever, you will NEVER regain the respect of your neighbors until you apologize for smearing a good and honest family that has been a pillar of your community for more than a century..

Without such an apology, your efforts are futile. Futile! No, this lawsuit will not be soon forgotten. The arrogance and disdain shown by the College in their handling of this affair is now seared into Lorain Countys collective consciousness; these memories will live on in your community, passed down through generations.

Your only hope is a full and contrite apology, IMMEDIATELY.

If you do appeal this case, you will drive the last possibilities for reconciliation away. You now have one final chance to apologize, accept your losses and go home.

But; Oberlin College, it seems you are not sorry for the damage you have caused to these innocent people. You tried to destroy them, but that is OK in your world because of the color of their skin.

Oberlin, you no longer uphold the progressive values of your founders; you have become racists of the worst sort.

What matters to you most is a persons skin color, not the content of their character. It is the color of the Gibsons skin that blinds you to who they really are.

It seems you dont care about these good neighbors of yours, Oberlin College, this kindly bakers family that has been your good neighbors for over a hundred years. They were willing to let this matter drop, if only you would tell the truth and clear their good name.

If thats how it is, if you as a college community care nothing for them, then go ahead: dont apologize. Continue to destroy yourselves, for it seems you have completely lost your way, completely lost any sense of decency or integrity.

Yes, if thats how it is, it would be best that you completely go down in flames, so that from the ashes in some distant day can arise a new sense of humility and sacred purpose, to love your neighbors as yourselves.

Vernonb: Don't let little things like biological facts get in the way of a successful venture. We need gay cakes, hot dogs, trees, cars, gay across every brand and category. The message is that if it's gay it's inherently better. If it's not gay, you are a fascist. And then we come beat you up with gay truncheons (available now at Gaymazon).

LOLs. With each passing day in my adoptive state of Arizona I just get prouder and prouder. We don't buy into any of this sillyness. All this fuss sounds like it's coming from another planet. It's not that we don't have competitive interests. We got like 2 dozen native reservations, there's the fact that Arizona used to literally be Northern Mexico, the Tejanos have titles and land grants dating from the pre-colonial period, they still assert ownership of land according to Spanish law, the government actually owns half the state, how we actually get along is starting to seem like a miracle. If we behaved like everybody else, Arizona would be a post-nuclear wasteland. We'd have killed each other and resorted to cannibalism 200 years ago.

Two things I notice. This is a desert. This is a very harsh environment so maybe human life is more apparently precious here. I know that from being a border guard. Yes, the very first thing we do when we process illegals is offer them water, get them in shade. The lines between security and humanitarian relief get hopelessly blurred.

The other thing is we are religious. There's the native thing, there's the Mexican or Tejano Catholic thing but there are acres and acres, miles and miles of tracts of Jehova's Witnesses and Mormons. They are busy populating like jack rabbits. They are literally making the way straight for Messiah to return.

Did I mention that the Mormons are armed to the teeth? Yah they don't make a big deal about it but they are prepped and ready. They have large families of disgustingly and nauseatingly good looking children who all know how to shoot. Nobody has it more organized. Or disgusting....ly attractive.

I'd convert to Mormonism if they weren't so irritatingly perfect and happy all the time. I can barely handle Christians. Mormons are like Christians on meth.

If there's any Mormons here I apologize in advance. I'm already sorry, I'm unredeemed. You guys just stay on track.
