When this started breaking I thought about all the posts Karl has written warning of this very thing.

remember the story of the scorpion and the frog. he can't stop doing that which is his business. funny how this Face**** story has managed to play out in the media with no discussion of how this happens in so many other venues. his company is but one player. to close on that note there are so many companies doing data compilation and cross referencing it appalls that they manage to stay in business. my contacts in the industry tell me about the huge amount of redundancy. the only other meaningful contribution to the data set was cellular GPS, and they were saying this long before Facebook. these businesses are thus ready for consolidation and loss of cash flow value. wonder what this will do to the value of internet properties.

There are two ways to be rich: One is by acquiring much, and the other is by desiring little.

I don't understand why the spin is about use of stolen personal data. It was freely given unfettered access to all the stupid **** people do in accordance with the TOS
That suddenly people realize Facebook was CREATED to collect and sell psychological profiles to ANYONE willing to pay for it is amusing.
That the outrage is centered on it being why Trump is the President means there guy may yet serve a useful purpose
