As KD points out with his formula, increasing taxes just lowers C + I rather than cutting spending which lowers G, as that money would have been spent on consumption or invested. The crash is already baked in, it's just political theater how it's going to happen, increasing taxes now drives away what might rebuild after the smoking crater cools down. 2011-04-14 00:24:27
