I don't get the impression the others in the video are necessarily laughing AT Farage.

Some of them must be fully aware of and understand what he is saying - they lack the forceful personality and the skill to deliver the same opinion as humorously though.

Unless you're an evil crapocrat who was one of the chief decision makers bringing ruin upon Europe and therefore the target of Farage's wit, how can you NOT bust a smile listening to him?!?

Noodleman,

Nigel Farage is at the European Parliament, not the British Parliament. He is head of the UK Independence Party, which ironically wants to end British Involvement with the EU, the organisation that employs him.

Interestingly, the popularity for UKIP has grown recently, and the incumbent right wing party in the UK, the Conservative party, are worried. Thanks to our voting system of constituencies and first past the post selection of candidates, a split in the vote on the right could decimate the number of seats that the Conservative (aka Tory Party) would win in the House of Commons.

Sparticlebrane - Smacktle was making a commentary on human nature. He is saying few people think about how things actually work and how it impacts them. They assume everything continues the same. If they did think they would push a cart in from the parking lot because it takes almost zero effort and somebody has to return it. They don't roll back themselves. But it is one of the hidden costs you pay for in the store - some flunky rounding them up and returning them.
Well people are the same with bigger more complex systems. Say all the systems that feed them a pocket full of cash at the ATM. They just assume somebody will keep them functioning from behind the scenes and they will always have them and be able to afford the hidden costs of them.
I think you have self identified which sort of person you are plainly.

And yet, some of us have no issues paying that hidden cost.

If you wish to put a label on someone you don't know based off a single online posting, go for it...but that is pretty ignorant.

Sparticlebrane, I don't have to have anyone say anything to me, I just watch their actions. In my neighborhood people will leave big limbs that fell off their tree and is laying halfway in the road and their yard for weeks at a time until someone other than them moves it. Other people will just run over it (causing a bigger mess) or go around. The same goes for leaving papers and whatnot that gets thrown in their driveway. They just keep running over and over them.

If you and your wife leave early in the morning and come home late at night then I could understand why you wouldn't see the debri in your yard. AND! if you would like to meet some people that think others are going to pick up for them, then come to my neighborhood! OR I can send you pictures, day 1, day 2, day 3 etc...

If you see a cart blocking a parking space and you move that cart out of the parking space and move it inside the store (or use it yourself) you have become part of the solution not the problem.

Take a look at the bigger picture and give up the, "I'm so busy" crap. Everyone claims they are busy. Very few actually are.

I agree with you, I did not get the impression anyone was laughing at the message. They were laughing that someone had the gall to actually say it, and the way it was delivered. I was smiling as well.

I wonder how many of them were listening to a translation because they do not speak English? And the translation may not have been near as good as the original.

Sparticlebrane, here in Detroit there are quite a few people who do want everything done for them and aren't ashamed at all to demand it. A few years ago during winter there was a heavy snowfall and the local news networks were interviewing some citizens of Detroit who were saying it was racis' that nobody was coming to their houses and shoveling their snow. I almost kicked my TV when they interviewed an able bodied 23 year old(they identified him as such) who was too lazy to shovel his own ****ing walk. He was DEMANDING somebody(taxpayer funded) come do it for him!

I have watched many Nigel Farage video presentations. To claim that several in his immediate audience do not mock, ridicule or laugh AT him during his presentations is denying reality. And many of his previous speeches have been much more biting and painfully honest than even this one. To claim that he does not have some serious detractors in the audience who side with the big banks and the european oligarchs is not a true representation of reality. Personally, I love the guy and I only wish we had ONE political representative in DC who owned a set as big as Nigel's.

My favorite politician. Well, I guess the only one I really like.

Who's the jackass at seat #11 that keeps jawing at him during the speech? Or maybe he's actually on Nigel's side. I can't really understand what he's saying, or gauge the overall reaction like many posters here. Boy, I'd love to be a fly on that wall and feel the energy in that room.

No, Ribbit.

The natural born restriction applies to the Prez (and VP) only. (ETA: And, as you can see, it's hardly ever enforced, anyway. smiley)

Although quality people like Farage would probably balk at having to reside here long enough to become a naturalized citizen.
