There are occasional sales though -- like around Christmas. If you catch one you can sometimes get $50 or even $100 off on the phone, but you have to catch it when it happens.

Ya, they do have short, periodic sales. The Optimus V is now quite a bit cheaper than it was about 2 years ago.

If they get Samsung Note or a comparable 5" screen LG or HTC, I'm there. My wife just got on VM. She has the Elite. She likes it alot. She got it for $129 at Best Buy. Daughter has the Wildfire S. She loves it.

Also, keep an eye out on the Target/Best Buy ads around the holidays, they've had good sales on VM phones the past couple years too

#1, a lot of people don't have that, especially if they are living paycheck to paycheck

Then why are they buying an iPhone w/ an $80/month fee in the first place?

And o'erthrew them with prophesying, To the old of the new world's worth

Unfortunately, out in the sticks like we are there is not much choice. I can see the verizon tower, att's service is poor, sprint nonexistent.

Just FYI, Boost is slightly more expensive than Virgin but DOES allow roaming unlike Virgin.

This is a reason I chose Boost over Virgin in the first place.

I just hope Boost puts out a better 4G version of my Transform Ultra, because I need a slide out keyboard w/ my phone.

Detailed cost analysis.

Quote:
AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said last week that the savings are compelling, but buyers seem to be very sensitive to increases in the initial cost of the iPhone. AT&T would look at offering such plans if demand holds up, he said.

Next...some clever bank (or AAPL!) will loan you $650 at, say, 5-10% interest to ease the pain of one time payment and Virgin/Cricket/Boost will put a major dent on T and VZ.
