It is no surprise that the MSM is not accurately reporting the facts, but who is it that is directing the MSM to distort the truth so blatantly? Sheeple should get their first clue with Zimmerman being labeled white.

I'm filing this entire circus under "never let a good crisis go to waste" because the timing is perfect for a variety of POTUS re-election/dictatorial take-over strategies, such as:

SCOTUS diversion - Obamacare constitutional challenge starts Monday morning.

Gun Control - this reeks of a ploy to re-emphasize the push to gut the Second Amendment and conform with the UN's civilian disarmament objective.

Vote pandering - this should solidify the AA vote as well as getting votes from the apologists (whites that feel guilt and shame over slavery, oppression, bigotry and prejudice).

Republican Campaign Derailment - Old white men have no way to address an issue like this without offending the AA population, a la Rodney King.

Divide and Conquer - starting the race riots for the American Spring gives the POTUS an excuse to implement several new legislations and Executive orders.

Hell why are people so worked about this case? At worst you really don't know what happened for sure, but in NYC the cops broke down a kids door without a warrant and shot him to death in his own bathroom. Anyone give a **** about that black kid being gunned down? They have the cops breaking and entering on video and they admit the kid didn't have gun, nor did he attack the cops. No arrests in that case. Jessie Jackson? Obama? Anyone care? Any black panther's putting out kidnapping rewards for that cop's head?

It doesn't matter whether or not Zimmerman should have done X, Y or Z. No, he didn't make the best decisions that night. And it doesn't really matter than Trayvon wasn't at his primary home because he was on a ten-day suspension from school, had gold teeth, big tattoos and seemed to be engaged in less-than-wholesome activities, including comments from friends on internet/twitter posts alluding to Trayvon swinging on a bus driver and another person asking him for some "weed".

The fact is Zimmerman confronted an individual walking slowly and without a sense of purpose between houses in a light drizzle at night. That behavior in and of itself is suspicious. Some might even call it "prowling".

Basically, he challenged Trayvon and Trayvon reacted at some point with violence against Zimmerman, attacking Zimmerman and bashing Zimmerman's head against the ground while pummeling him.

Zimmerman was able to access his gun, and in a reasonable fear of great bodily injury from this kid bashing his head on the ground, fired a shot to thwart the attack.

Florida's new "Stand your ground" law doesn't even enter into it as even if this shooting was evaluated under the previous law in Florida regarding the use of deadly force in self-defense, this still would be a righteous shooting.

The decedent's family is only fanning the flames here to try Zimmerman in the press.

"Follow the money" suggests that they are seeking judgments or settlements from insurance companies.

Now, emotional critics can offer up speculation as to what they believe might have happened, but the physical evidence supports Zimmerman's account of the story and if it didn't he would be in custody right now.

And now, with the latest witness coming forward to recount his recollection of that events of that night, it would seem the tide is turning against the community agitators and agent provocateurs who are seeking to continue to milk this tragedy for personal gain.

Ditto for the mainstream media... it's in their commercial best interests to keep fanning the flames and sensationalizing this story. It gets the circulation and viewership and that means more advertising $.

ETA: If Trayvon was a "good kid", he would have likely been on a sidewalk walking back to his dad's place or if walking between the houses, then doing so with a sense of purpose. If he was a "good kid", he would have been civil to the man who challenged him for acting suspiciously. It all could have been averted if, as a good kid, he would have said, "Hey man. I'm sorry. I'm just on my way back to my dad's place. Sorry for cutting between the house. I'll stay on the sidewalk."

Well, for most folks, their kid would have responded with words, not violence, after being challenged for doing something like this.

That said, the man is toast - if you listen closely to the first of 2 911 calls released it sounds like Zimmerman says "****ing coons" under his breath when talking about the dead man. Of course, he could also be saying "****ing goons" but people will hear what they want to hear...

There's been a government created and sponsored race war coming in this country for a while now. Whites have been taking it in the pooper for a long time now and the rage has been simmering quietly for years from all that I know and hear. Blacks feel the 'man' holds them down and whites think that blacks and minorities in general get everything handed to them for free and get preferential treatment for everything. It's not good out there right now.

Without pretending to know any facts of the case, not even taking the media accounts as truth - if he was being followed by Zimmerman, and then turned around and confronted him by asking him why he was following him, doesn't the "Stand your ground" law apply FIRST to Martin? He was standing his ground when someone was threatening his safety by following him in a new, unfamiliar neighborhood, in the dark. That gives him the right to confront and punch Zimmerman? Why not? Anyway, as Zimmerman's reaction shows such laws do not really protect you from superior firepower, all they can do is protect you on occasion from a civil lawsuit if you confront someone.

Zimmerman sounds like a coward who buys his courage from the gun shop. All he needed to do was shine a flashlight towards Martin, identify as neighborhood watch and ask him if he was looking for an address or something if he was so concerned. If he thought that was too dangerous, he should have listened to the 911 operator and left it for the cops to handle. Strutting around with a loaded gun while on neighborhood watch for THIEVES, not rapists, murderers or even muggers (all of which are life-threatening crimes) does not seem to be a prudent way to operate.

Obama said if he had a son he would look like Martin - and while it has been distorted by the "angry" men of the right as some kind of divisive statement, it is actually something someone like him needed to say. Martin was not there to commit a crime, and most people (me included) react with "poor fellow, if only some blacks were not such violent criminals innocent kids like this will not be getting shot like this". We need to remember that bcos someone else is a criminal everyone who looks like them cannot be targetted or written off as collateral damage. This is not a war zone, it is a middle-class neighborhood, and such behavior is not acceptable even in a war zone. If we see this kid as no different than a Sasha or Malia we realize that he did not deserve to die for being black in a strange neighborhood. There are many middle class black families out there and their kids might be spending the evening with their friends from school, and thus walking through the neighborhood, that does not make them fair game for vigilante buffoons. We need to see blacks as not just a bunch of inner city thugs and musical performers on American Idol.

Zimmerman mentored black children in his neighborhood and is being defended by his black friends as well. This is ridiculous, he did not chase anyone, he tried to follow a suspicious person around a corner. Dispatch did not tell him to stop following the suspect, they asked if he was following and he said yes, then they said "You don't have to do that" a second later he replies OK and says he is headed back to meet the police.

The girlfriend's supposed phone call with the attacker according to the published phone record ends before the 911 call ended. So nothing she says has any bearing as it is all coached and/or made up, she did not btw relay any of this for a week or more to anyone else.

If you attack someone and are in fact straddling them and administering a beat-down - well sometimes you get shot. Justifiably.

So if you catch him in your backyard and you ask him what he is up to (Zimmerman lived in a gated private community and this young man was visiting) and your neighbor's wonderful kid punches breaks your nose, knocks you down and pins you whilst pummeling you. You scream for help and your neighbors run inside and lock their doors rather than coming to your aid. This is where you say screw it I guess I have to do after all I had no right to act like a cop?

Btw, I don't see how looking around a corner to see where, a guy who was standing in the rain at night (it was dark at 1930 when this happened) went so you can help police officers find him is doing anything wrong. Maybe you do but I don't - but again I come back to even if Zimmerman did all of this he still did not lose the right to defend himself.

Exactly.

That's the beginning and end of this debate. Either Martin was doing this or he was not. If he was and as a consequence Zimmerman was reasonably in fear of great bodily injury or death then the shoot was good and it doesn't matter what preceded it as no part of straddling Zimmerman and beating him can be construed as a defensive act.
