Mpilar, this is pretty vague, as the court said it wasn't necessary in this case to solve what was a natural born citizen and thus they weren't going to go into that matter.

Mannfm11, I see their point...it wasn't necessary because the definition was obvious to them "it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also."

I don't think it's vague, I think the definition, as they wrote it, could very well be binding on today's case.

I've been following this since early '09 and can tell you that this won't be the only state where Obama's ballot access is challenged.

Unless I'm missing something, they win the case and Obama cannot be on the Democrat primary ballot in Georgia. No Georgia electoral votes if he doesn't making the Nov ballot.
It's bigger than just those electoral votes.

In the case of a state ruling against a sitting president's qualifications for the office, if at that point CONgress wanted to retain one shred of constitutional legitimacy, the House would have to begin looking into returning articles of impeachment.

Of course, it is already obvious no one seated there today gives two ****s about the institution's legitimacy. But at least it would turn up the heat on the dick wads.

No, the court said it wasn't necessary in this case to resolve doubts as to whether one qualified as a citizen "without reference to the citizenship of their parents."

The court was very clear in defining natural born citizen as "children born in a country of parents who were its citizens."

Case closed, according to snopes: "The premise of this claim (ssn) is also a flawed concept, as Barack Obama is a natural born citizen of the US.."

Well that was easy, thanks snopes!

Ive read many weird statements about his SSI number

They say you can look it up by his selective service registration which we all went through in the 70's and its a Connecticut number and also a previously issued number at that.

I dont know

Karl have you ever looked into the claims about his SSI number?

Karl, definitely and it does not match his background story, he said he worked at Baskin Robbins (in Hawaii) when he was younger and BR does not pay under the table he would have needed SSI and a work permit.

They say the info is listed at Selected Service but when I tried one time to run the number it said "blocked" due to too many visits.....also I have seen claims that this was a previously issued number going back to a guy born in the 90's 1890's

Yes. The number has a Connecticut prefix. That IS very odd.

from the brief at http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.....

so they are now saying that he lacks standing - and people voted for Obama - and he can show no injury - so who cares !

If that is the case, then why do we just strike out those portions of the Constitution that may present an inconvenience for some.

so how about these - Do they mean anything at all ? If a representative or senator was voted in "by the people" but was in 18 years old, or is not a US citizen, or does not reside in the district or State in which he was elected, there is nothing that can be done, as using the logic above, no one has standing and there is no injury ?

That are arguing that The constitution is: Toilet paper.

Requirements to be a US representative

Requirements to be a US senator

a U.S. citizen for at least nine years at the time of election to the Senate.
a resident of the state one is elected to represent in the Senate.

Interesting. BTW, the link to the complaint itself was broken up until a few minutes ago. I emailed the site and it is now fixed, and it is interesting because it lays out the logic quite well. If some of the posters here would have read it first, it would have saved some keystrokes:

Fraudsters should be pursued, tried, and punished for many reasons, among them: 1) in order to foster justice and respect for the rule of law and 2) to help discourage others from working the same scam in the future.

Seems pretty simple to me. Both of those are pretty big benefits to society in the long run.

Google "Obama Georgia Eligibility Case". The only things that come up are blogs. Not a single damn thing from any MSM. Isn't there a single enterprising MSM reporter who could sneak this past his/her editor? They should pretend it's as important as, maybe, the image of St Joseph appearing on a grilled cheese.

The MSM is bought, paid for, and perfectly edumacated by our
public school systems. What did you expect from the Teachers Unions?

The MSM is the convenient pen-servants of the psycopathic banksters.

Just exactly what is it you are hoping for?

"What possible upside is there for "getting" Obama on this?"

1) We could get rid of Eric Holder and maybe prosecute some bankers.

2) It would rattle Congress so that some might come to understand that this is a government of, by, and for the people. Without the consent of the governed, there is no legitimacy for the government.

3) There would be the upside of a big wake-up call for people who have told themselves that the only threats to our country or our people would be from "terrorists" who enter our country on commercial flights. Too many people want to be kept safe so they can live in a free society and completely miss that the safety and freedom are circling the drain in the same vortex. Then again, there is a certain level of unease and rising cynicism in the land. People need to be able to realize how much corruption has built up and learn some of the specifics.

4) There would be the upside similar to getting a cancer diagnosis -- the sooner the better so that treatment can be curative with the pain and destruction and loss of function minimized. If allowed to continue, cancer takes over and kills the host who is afraid to face the facts.

I lived through the Watergate hearings while I was in college. We survived as a country. This current abscess needs to be opened and drained. It will be disgusting and stinky and leave an ugly mark, but avoiding the treatment will only allow us to be further sickened and weakened. Do it.

@Azusgm - may I quote this to some friends of mine?

I too lived through Watergate, Nixon's dollar devaluation, oil embargo and the rest of what happened in the 70s too. What is strange to me is that the people who lived through those events, and some of those who even protested in the late 60s and early 70s are actually in charge now. I sometimes wonder ... "what did they learn during this earlier era." (Or maybe the question is why did they forget the lessons of that period. The answer, of course, is that greed is a very powerful and deceptive force.)

Why, exactly, are some people still insisting Obama's a natural born citizen, even after they're told the facts? Ignorance is understandable (and rampant in the U.S. these days smiley) as a preliminary excuse, but once it's explained to them, with direct references to numerous historical and current sources, why don't they get it?

Stupid? Stubborn? What?

^^ Because it's just too bizarre that "they" could possibly have put someone who is ineligible in a position to be run, much less be elected. There are checks and balances for that, for goodness sakes! This could not possibly have slipped through the cracks. Therefore, I am an idiot (not quite my husband's words, but close enough).
