nice advice deejunk. even americans living abroad are supposed to pay taxes. for capital gains it's from dollar one. imagine how please expats who have no intention of repatriating are of sending dollars back "home" :) however...as a "perk" in the tax code to the large multi-nationals who have to "pay up" to get people to expatriate and work abroad, the first 80k of earnings is tax-free. given that, i guess it doesn't take too much imagination to see one way how one might structure their life to minimize their taxable income. r8r p.s. for people who have small businesses, google "offshore non-recourse factoring". p.p.s. i'm not qualified to give legal or tax advice to a peanut.
