Quote:I understand why the gov would want to hide the bad news but what interest does the media have in hiding this…normally they jump all over bad news. I've been curious about this myself. Why is it that the MSM is dedicated to reporting the scariest, most depressing non-financial news? Why are car crashes, child abductions, terrorist bombings, etc. the staple of conventional local, network and cable news outlets? Yet, when they do any financial news "reporting", there's always room for cheery optimism, glass half-full to completely full, hopeful and dumbed-down spin? I'm not saying I know the answer. But it sure seems like the intention is keep people so fearful of everyday life out in the world with their fellow man that they can't see with a clear mind that thing which is a genuine cause of concern: our fake, 3 card monte, ponzi scheme economy. I contend that the regular J6P world is MUCH less dangerous than the MSM would have us believe, focusing as they do on the .01% of life that poses a threat, and making it seem like everyone you meet is liable to steal your kid or set off a pipe bomb. The house of cards financial system, engineered by scum bag bankers, however, is far more of a threat than the MSM is allowed to report. 2008-12-11 19:02:04
