We are imploding right now. Jobs and credit are being destroyed very rapidly. Consumers are cutting back now. A slow slide to the bottom will take a couple years, we'll rattle around at the bottom (true unemployment 20-25%) for a half dozen years or more before we start to see any real signs of growth.
