I would not either consider him (E.S.) the best example of fighting corruption. That observation is an important part of what this forum is talking about. That leads to the insight that so many people who are lionized by the media as "credible" just happen to have sufficiently overriding flaws which allow an attempted easy dismantling of reputation. Does this have any relation to why efforts of sensible citizens to speak out are dismissed so easily? Where are we as a civilization when sanity brands us as boring? Lacking credibility? Does this happen by accident or by design? Or is it simply inevitable as part of the human condition? I feel strongly that these questions are at the heart of why our elected representatives so often (enough to cause a minority vote) seem to miss the point of what their constituents are saying.
