what in your opinion are practical ways of withdrawing consent and voicing dissent?
Every situation is different, larger cities seem to be more willing to consent to this stupidity. Smaller communities is about a 50/50 split. I was at walmart last night, they have cute little signs EXIT ONLY and ENTER ONLY for the most part people are now ignoring those signs. NO ONE except the store clerk in the check out line I was in was wearing a mask, social distancing is mostly a shopping cart length. Thankfully many people around this part simply aren't complying.

I personally make it a point to go into a mom and pop shop and buy something, thank them for remaining open. Almost every day I go on a couple three mile walk, some walks take me by parks and I have noticed some rat bastard has been taking down the "Caution" tape that had been surrounding the playground equipment...Some people....

Guantlett: LA is Much bigger than my area, so things of course will be different. For years walmart has been trying to get people to "show their receipts" on the way out the door. Although I have been asked on several occasions, I have never shown my receipt. I walk right past them. Can this work in reverse for you? You will never know if you don't try.

There is no expectation of you needing to ask any flunky standing at the door for permission for what to wear. Pretend you are on the phone, pretend you can't hear them, pretend you can't understand engrish. Being rude or confrontational will get you no where, but unless they are a commissioned officer they can not stop you. Maybe they end up calling the real piggies, but you are under no obligation to answer ANY of their questions, be polite, sign nothing, except nothing and if the real pigs escort you from the store go polity, but document EVERYTHING on your end.

If you get all the way to the check out line and the teller says "Sir, I can't help you unless you wear a mask" Smile and leave. If that does happen I hope you have a bunch of ice cream in your cart.

Good luck out there.
