"Green" energy doesn't exist without a hefty reliance on fossil fuel.|
Steel doesn't just exist in ready to assemble condition.
You gotta find some iron first...
Mining > diesel
Ocean transport > diesel electric
Ore refining > coke ovens
Land transport > diesel
Manufacture/finishing > electricity (80% fossil/nuke)
Lubricants > petrol
When a windmill or a solar panel goes live, is it ever able to generate enough "cost free" electricity to overcome the sunk fossil inputs?
