I don't think I like where it is going at all.....

"He's now president for life. President for life. And he's great. I think it's great. Maybe we'll give that a shot someday." - President Trump on China's constitutional change to allow Xi to serve for life.

Yes, because dictatorships work out really well.

You know, like Mao did?  Yeeeaaahhhhh..

Second, was that comment somewhat tongue-in-cheek and if so, did it betray what Trump really thinks?

That's an ugly possibility.... but one we should consider quite-carefully.

Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.  The so-called "swamp draining" idea is to go to Washington DC, do your job, destroy the monopolists, bring fiscal sanity to the Congress via a wide-tip sharpie-marker size VETO pen and use it liberally.

You'll lose re-election but by the time you're done half the scammers will be in jail and the other half will cut the crap because they'll be scared that they're next in line and headed there to the graybar motel.  Get marijuana off the Schedule I list (where it not only doesn't belong it's fraud for it to be there since it's a scientific fact it has medical use) and blanket-pardon everyone arrested for anything related to same.  That'll make plenty of room for the people that need to be locked up.

Of course that's what Trump sold America.  It's not what we're getting.  He's already decided he wants that second term and has hired his campaign manager -- and we're barely into his second year.

Better start thinking about all the fellatio you "Trumpers" are performing on this guy.  It's what he operates on, and that's dangerous not only for the obvious reasons but for the much-less obvious ones -- like when things don't go so well in places like the stock market.

Why is it I keep hearing echoes of Senator Palpatine and his "stirring" speech about the First Galactic Empire.....
