A couple of questions just came to mind. Insurance companies are currently revising downward the amount of expected insured losses and the stock market seemed to be cheered by this news on Monday. I assume insurance companies don't have a huge pile of cash just laying around to pay claims. So where do property insurers park their money? Wouldn't their selling of financial instruments necessarily have a negative effect on those markets or institutions where they're invested?
