I occasionally IM my niece or buddy on FB. Over the weekend I got an email notification that I had a chat waiting. I click on the link in my email client (Thunderbird) and FB opens up in IE11 my my account already logged in. I thought this was strange because I purposely log out of FB to limit any ability to track me. So I log out, delete all my cookies, passwords and autofill. Yet, when I click the link in Thunderbird - IE opens up w my account logged in again. wtf?! When I change my default browser to Brave or Firefox it does not exhibit this behaviour. Any idea how IE is maintaining the login to FB? This is on win10. Very disturbing, I'm considering going back to linux and running windows in a vm when needed.|
And yeah, I've felt the same way as KD for a very long time. Don't expect me to subscribe to your FB feed to communicate, Send me a damn email.
