These Aholes will do anything to justify their existence and power.
Amen. The games will be played by TPTB at whatever expense to the people until either they don't work or it becomes convenient for the Aholes to crash the economy to justify their existence and power. Even if the current methods begin to fail, there is probably another story to be concocted that can fool the sheeple and keep the market up for some period of time.
I will IMHO add that there is an element of risk where TPTB might find it convenient to induce a crash. That will be during the time between the election and inauguration if Obama loses the election or of for some reason TPTB want Obama out of office.
But you can't change the reality of arithmetic. You can try to evade it for a period of time, and for a while you might even succeed.
For at least 4 years, this so far has been proven wrong. You may not be able to change the reality of arithmetic, but you can certainly move the basis on which the game is played in such a way that it has been successfully evaded so far for years, maybe even decades. In other words, TPTB can't change the mathematical reality but they can change the rules and the perception. I hold out little hope for common, classical economic and mathematical "book sense" to win in the near future.
The QE'ing does benefit someone. The well to do (banks, hedge funds, et. al.) know when it's coming and make money hedging on the price of commodities going up. So someone gets to benefit at our expense. They don't just do it for no reason at all. That's why they're always screaming for more.
+100 Standby! As the old saying goes, follow the money, this case the benefit and power, and you'll find the real traders who are winners.
Until the game goes terminally and permanently out of control, which hasn't happened for years if not decades, most of the "Impending and Looming Bear" TFers are like sheeple, nibbling at tactical opportunities while the real wins are being picked up by the longs and TPTB.
Look how much money you could have made if you'd ignored the classic TF logic of sound economics and business and believed the impending doomsday scenario since 2008 and just gone head first long into the market.
