Obviously it's practical for the EU to have all sorts of contingency plans, including the types leaked to Reuters. Nonetheless, by making a big splash with a leak to Reuters, the aim is to cause concern, if not panic, in Greece in order to illustrate to the electorate how high the stakes are. The beauty with this scheme is that there would be no Troika policy action to blame if Greek banks get drained. That's my thinking, anyway. 2012-06-11 13:26:08
