Of course it was endorsed by BigPharma, and the insurance industry, too. They are corrupt to the core, just like the financial industry, and Big Energy, etc. Our legislators, BOTH sides of the aisle, have sold us down the river. Big corporations own our slave asses. And yep, we are footing the bill for much of the world, which adds significantly to our costs. I would only argue that a larger driver of costs are chronic health conditions, related to obesity/poor diet/lack of exercise, leading to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. 80% of costs are attributed to these. I won't get into the "fee-for-service" scam and that we compensate our providers far more heavily for disease than health. 2012-06-04 12:03:08
