The Trayvon case fits into a large number of folks' pre-conceptions about America. That is how most people interpret reality. You have a framework of beliefs that you try to shoe-horn reality into. We didn't kill 100,000 women, children and elderly Iraqis in the last Iraq invasion - that would be a horrible thing to have to deal with. Instead, we liberated a country. That sounds better, doesn't it? That is the framework that most folks have about America - always virtuous, doing things for a good reason.

And so because of the history of America, and the two tiered justice system that African Americans had historically labored under, what might be a non-racially motivated event gets interpreted within this framework based upon past history. This is entirely understandable, and it serves no purpose to assume an attitude of superiority over folks who look at the case in this way. Put it in the context of American history and cut folks some slack. And yes, please let the facts speak for themselves, everyone.
