RTFfan, if Comcast's move is "genius", (to repeat Xorbe comments) the genius is in the idea that it has a fair chance of crushing Netflix, after which they can raise the price due to lack of competition.

Remove a competitor (especially a troublemaker because of their bandwidth use) and open the door to a big captive audience -- what's not to like? Rather like the anecdotes you hear of WalMart coming to town, smothering half the businesses, and then raising prices because they can, due to lack of competition.
