Yep.

Made that mistake. Almost lost my home.

Plus, when your home and everything you own is on the line, you don't think as clearly and your decisions made are colored by that.

Thankfully, it worked out for me. Home is fully paid off now.

But, I would advise anybody that asked me - don't do it.

I would never do it again, that's for sure.

ETA - on the original post subject - not all "great" ideas turn out to be "great." If that was truly a "great" idea money would have found it's way to him.
