Seems to be a sub-thread on Alzheimer's here.

AD took my mom at 64 years old. Bittersweet. Sucks that she got it but I counted cheerfully the days I was able to spend with her, knowing that there are many people out there who never got to say good bye to their loved ones.

Of course I worry that I'm in line. I don't do aluminum anything (cookware, deodorant, etc).

I've also taken to pushing my brain, as one poster mentioned. Learning to sew, gun smithing, foreign languages, etc. Besides the potential that it would stave off AD for a few years it also makes me a better, well rounded person.
