Not qualified to answer the pull the $ from qualified plans question - gut says NO! unless you can't afford a supply of food NOW, does it have to be 3 years of Mountain House? no, just enough to get you TO the growing season and a few months beyond if there are complications - YMMV. RE: Armement You want enough ammo for the guns - 5k PER is probably fine - you have a .50 GREAT - do you have someone that knows how to use it? not FIRE it - USE it! how many rds and of what type do you have on hand? Do you know where to deploy this gun to maximize the effectiveness? Do you have Night vision - PVS-14 type units? for night security? Do you have a team - do they have body armor and comms?
