MOGADISHU, Somalia -- A leader of Somalia's Islamist insurgency threatened to attack America during a speech broadcast Monday.
"We tell the American President Barack Obama to embrace Islam before we come to his country," said Fuad Mohamed "Shongole" Qalaf.
What part of The First Amendment didn't you read?
Oh yeah, I forgot: You don't know how to read.
In our nation, which you don't seem to respect, you have the right to worship as you wish. That includes not worshiping at all. If you wish to bay to the Moon when it is full, you may. If you wish to file into a Baptist Church and hear bombastic speeches from The Bible about how gays are all going to burn in Hell forever, you may. If you attend a Synagogue and invoke Yahweh, you may. If you wish to attend a Catholic Mass and take Holy Communion, you may. If you wish to pray several times a day on a mat facing Mecca, you may. And if you wish to hold a service for Satan, you may.
It's called Freedom of Religion and it is expressly guaranteed in our national founding documents. I have no right to interfere with your choice of religious observance (including none at all), and you have no right to interfere with mine.
Pronouncements otherwise in the form of threats - "do it our way or else" should be taken as open declarations of war and responded to in kind, since our Constitution forbids what you demand. It is therefore incumbent upon us to deal with that declaration in the only way that it can be dealt with, which is to consider your "organization" as one that is at war with The United States.
In short, let me respond as one American who has read The Constitution to your outrageous demand and open Declaration of War:
