From Yermawm: I see two potential paths here: -Utter brutality, and submission -Finding a new prophet to show them why they are wrong. From what I understand about the Koran, the second path is not allowed...but if a new prophet emerged on the scene...how would you know it? Where would you look for this prophet? I don't think you'll find this person in one of the major churches, synagouges, or mosques. Those folks have a conflict of interest in telling the Truth. They would have to give up their livelihood and earn a living like the rest of us. The person would have to point out the doctrinal errors in Islam and the other major Judeo-Christian religions. There are some major differences in the major religions about our relationship to and with God. Was Jesus really the Son of God or is that an expression that signifies something else beyond the literal definition? What does it mean to be a Son of Man vs. Son of God? Is Mary the mother of God or was the story of an ancient virgin birth myth copy/pasted into the NT to give Jesus a deity status? Why is the New Testament dominated by Paul's writing, when he wasn't even an apostle and never met Jesus? How much of the NT has been revised by the Romans to "manage and direct" the Christian religion? Was Mohammed the last prophet? What did Malachi mean when he mentioned Elijah coming again? Is this a reference to reincarnation? And on and on and on... Unfortunately, I'm afraid it's going to take a major escalation in violence before any cool heads will agree to sit together with or without a "prophet" and reconcile (not discuss) these differences in doctrine. God help us. 2010-09-09 13:15:33
