Note that in Argentina all the assets (26b + aprox 5b annual contributions) of the private retirement funds (AFJP's) were absorbed into (ANSES) the Social Security administrator which becomes responsible for all retirees. While it does open the door to all sorts of games, it is much more like private pension plans being absorbed into Social Security then a confiscation of 401K's to support the general fund.
