Satan recruits humans and some of them are in the entertainment industry: actors, writers, directors, camera operators, producers.

If only people would realize that the VAST MAJORITY of "people" in that field all hail from the same background. Same as the media. Same as those that constantly make trouble wherever they go.
Oh well, the world continues to turn and they continue to follow their father's directives...

It's a beautiful day in my part of the woods - time to get out there for a nice long walk and keep working on shedding the extra weight. What I see as I walk around town is INFINITELY more interesting than their made up, corrupting filth they peddle as stories/tv shows/movies.

I was thinking about all the tee-vee series I've actually watched in the past decade and I'm quite sure they all were produced by AMC. Yes, they all do go sideways in about the 4th season, but at least they've had "original" stories that are better than the reality shows the major networks fill primetime with.

Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, Halt and Catch Fire - all shows that I watched start to finish while putting the miles on the treadmill or elliptical.

The newest of those shows finished up in 2017 so it's been 5 years since I watched anything "new". Honestly I'm not even looking for something new to watch. Maybe I'll just watch reruns of Cullen Bohannon kicking ass building the railroad.

South Park, when its actually on, is still fresh after 25 years. I do watch that.

I can barely stand to watch the news, of any flavor. I yell at the nightly news. I actively dislike most of the talking heads. I am always shopping around.

I pay for no streaming services. If you dig you will find TONS of programming. Not much of it is any good, but it was no good when you were paying for it.
I have my TV on, in direct view, for most of the day. I work on the other screen I am always looking at.
It seems only a music channel with no words is acceptable.
Funny, using tv to listen to music. That's how far away they have pushed me.
Dead right about old movies. Some are just amazing. look for black and whites.

Speaking of seasons and episodes, for many years I've noticed the same thing
about comedians.
They start out with a lot of great, new and creative material, but later, after a few seasons they run out of new material and the old material has become repetitive and tired.
Then in an effort to make the audience laugh, they resort to shock the audience into laughter with increasingly vulgar, lewd and outrageous performances.
You can tell when a comedian has lost their creativity and is on the downhill slide into pointless irrelevancy.

Put my old tube television on the curb years ago. Haven't missed watching tv since. Tons of old stuff to watch still, but I can't be bothered. Little bit of youtube now and then, but mostly I'll read a book or play a game, board- or otherwise.. I'm most thankful for not seeing endless commercials every day.

I only watch on DVD/blue ray from the local library.

I've never purchased anything at a Starbucks, I've never subscribed to a streaming service and I've only bought a new car (cash) once in my life.

Yep. I'm no fun.

There is something to TV shows going down hill at season 4. The last TV show I cared about was Miami Vice and it went into the toilet starting with season 4.

I couldn't tell you the last movie I saw in a theater. But I do plan to see Top Gun: Maverick in IMAX when it comes out. The original Top Gun was full of testosterone but I'm not going to hold my breath on this one. I already can see from the trailers there is a female Top Gun pilot.

I use to be able to watch sports to get away from the woke but that is nearly impossible now. Even the college football game I went to last year, had a "public service announcement" about getting the jab. NFL football is unwatchable. MLB is okay but I do like college baseball.

All a person needs to know about TV is your brain shuts down as you watch.

There are a host of issues researchers have found while investigating human brain activity and visual media.

Your brain is more engaged while sleeping than when watching a screen with a show.

It's informative (and frightening) to Google "brain activity and television".

You won't find anything positive.

I was blessed as a child to grow up in a home with limited television. For several years we didn't have a TV because my dad realized it was too distracting for the family. My mom would spend the day parked in front of it while dad was out busting ass to provide for us.

That was the 70's and we only could pick up four stations. My partner and I in hotel rooms will get lost flipping thru channels. It's insane how much crap is out there.

We do watch a lot of series and movies using the local library. She really enjoys the escapism, and since she doesn't have any chemical relaxants (she doesn't drink or do anything other than some sugary foods) I don't mind. She doesn't care that I use other stuff to chill so it works for us.

Fortunately, my love isn't susceptible to media propaganda. I'm not sure how it works in her head, but she only focuses on the salient points and ignores the woke ****. Its amazing to me and she does it unconsciously. She sees bull**** miles in advance of most people. She stopped wearing a mask before I did because I explained about mosquitoes and chain link fences and, unlike me, she really doesn't give a **** what other people think. I hate to admit that I prefer to blend into the crowd to avoid confrontation.

I, on the other hand, can see propaganda everywhere. I'm amazed at how well Bernays' followers have created the illusions they do. But then again, people aren't very smart. Plus people hate to admit when they are wrong or have been fooled.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if television died. Hmmmm.

We have cable tv to watch the local news and re-runs of some old sitcoms. The tv series I was invested in was the Walking Dead and I quit watching it when it became a re-run of itself about 4 seasons ago. They killed off most of the original characters and the plot line stayed the same. No reason to keep watching the same thing over and over. The producers followed the same plot lines with the spin offs. Oh well. They had a good thing and screwed it up.
Any like Ingor stated above, I am sick of the " brilliant negro" and the whole ilk likewise.
Brillian White Man built the modern conveniences we have today. Including the TV. Not the slobbering, screaming wokers.

PS....the only things I can watch and rely on for their humor are The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park, mainly because the skewer both sides effectively and without mercy, despite that they (Simpsons and Family Guy) lean to the left.

This is a long and interesting comment thread but very few said:
I cut the cable! I no longer invite destructive crap into my house and my mind-and heart.

As a Whovian from way back (half-hour episodes on PBS, one after the other, with opening and closing credits between each one!) I was driven off TV when the not-totally-objectionable Doctor was partnered with an insanely oversexed lesbian negress. I began to investigate cable cutting but... still had hope for Doctor Who. Then, they announced a woman Doctor!! That made it easy! Buh-bye!

I scour (mostly) YouTube periodically for documentaries, science programs, gardening advice, new car reviews, and sundry other topics. For the last couple years: FLCCC updates and other *true medical* science programs. (Dr Kory is my HERO! I stalk him across the web!) Also, my 2-hour almost weekly podcast (its a videocast) by Randall Carlson fantastic info: like a Masters program in geology! I play them off an external hard-drive through a very old Roku box on the 65" TV in the company workroom while I assemble gauges.

I thought Id miss TV I was used to have it on in the computer room for company. Turns out, not at all! I even tried the 7-day free trial of Sling where I could have on in the background, say, HGTV: except most couples were miscegenated or gay or both. But, for company I thought Id try it. Called them after about five hours and cancelled the trial. The constant jump cuts, the screaming and laughing, the loud not-music, and lots and lots of people I do NOT want to see in my house! "Look-watch-listen-pay-attention-over-HERE! Look-look-LOOK!" Abraded my nerve endings. (I had no idea, until I was without the constant screaming, what it was I was inflicting on myself!)

You may think you need the news or sports or whatever shows you watch... try just a month without TV. Discover reading, thinking, time with family, gardening, crafts, documentaries you pull off the computer.
STOP Letting our enemies PUT things into your brain!!

This. We had a version of the woke subversion creeping into the cultural media as early as the 60s, but we also had something called SUBTLETY. Modern woke feels like watching the author masturbate into the screen. I don't know if they do it because they're just bad writers, because they're so insecure that they need constant affirmation through the social call-and-response ritual that is virtue signaling, or because they think the audience is so dumb that they won't get the message unless they beat them over the head with it, but it's disgusting either way.

@Avalanche -

"...but very few said: I cut the cable!"

Indeed many of us have. I have not watched TV in 30 years. I am 72 now, and did not have cable even back then. But my mother was alive back then, and when I visited her, the squawkbox was always on. This was the early 90's and I'd watch with her, just to be companionsble.

But for myself? Nope never paid a cable bill.

KD,
A big thank you for posting what so many of us think about Disney, Hollywood and the media arts in general but can't quite put it together into words like you can!!
I visualized you doing a "BOOM ! Mic Drop !" at the end for my own entertainment purposes !!!

I'd bet this is one of the most "commercial tv/media free" groups around. For me it was like any addiction, missed it for a month or two, but have not looked back in many years now.
I was excited to read an article recently about how the wokeness is finally starting to cause more brokeness, with a lot of the streaming services beginning to fire a lot of their diversity projects, because the lack of income was finally starting to become too big to ignore. We can only hope this continues.

I really agree with and enjoyed this essay!

Quit Hulu beginning of 2021, Netflix a few years ago, haven't watched much except movies from the 70s-90s for the past few years. The wokeness took away the enjoyment. When we do watch old episodes of House occasionally, or whatever show, we comment and laugh that almost every judge is a black woman or man and same for top warden at the prison, director of every hospital etc.

The easiest way for a man of color to become a CEO, homicide chief, FBI chief, politician or any career they've felt marginalized from is to become an actor.

As an actor they'll be able to have these jobs and so many more....

I think it's important to recognize in the biblical model the original sins were pride followed by deception. Yes Adam and Eve fell short as all humans do. We do not need to carry around the collective guilt of the origin of sin.

Many, many years ago I dated a woman who used to write for hollywood.

She did some big name stuff, but talked openly about the arc.

Let's say you and your team have a great idea for a new show. Good stories, well written characters, solid plot lines. All ready to start.

If you have a defined end, then it can be great.

But most producers DON'T Want a defined end. They want a cash cow. So they push for continual open plots. Tension with no closure. Foreplay but no payoff.

Many writers are also good at setting up a story, but suck at finishing it off. World building is easy at first, but at some point if you don't know what you are doing there are two may holes and the audience checks out.

Then you have the meat puppet egos. They actors want more money, more choices in production, and that cuts into costs. Eventually you fire the writers, bring in a new bunch, and hope you can milk it for a season or two till it is cut.

Add in woke and the arc is much shorter.

I moved from Lalaland to TN boonies just before Christmas last year. I unplugged and packed my TV around the middle of December. I finally unpacked it last month, but have yet to plug it into the wall. I really enjoy not having to see/listen to anybody at all. No news, no sport, no woke anything.
Instead, I have the birds in the trees around me, frogs in the pond, ducks quacking at my door at 5 p.m. (yes, I started feeding them a while ago) and the occasional barking of a far-away dog. I can't tell you how much my mental health has improved these last 5 months!

Nothing is new under the sun in Hollywood. Best example of what you lay out is Schitts creek which did last 80 episodes. Levy, Ohara, Elliot, Stevie, Levys daughter all worked then they had to really throw Levys son (gay) in your face and into a TV relationship to show their woke creds and the last two seasons went to schitt.

At least Modern Family made humor from their gay content.

I've noticed that male=dumb, female=smart, kids= smarter trend in TV commercials for some time now... Odd that some couples have a similar dynamic, the more attractive the woman the dumber the guy.

I've also noticed a few other things in society when comparing men and women. 7+ times out of 10 the ******* tailgating me is female (more so when i'm stuck behind someone going way under the speed limit).

And 8 to 9 times out of 10 a woman doesn't say thanks when I hold open a random door, males on the other hand say thanks 8 to 9 times out of 10.

As much as I want to not hold doors open for women it has become a habit to be hold open doors in such a manner, I either have to unlearn it completely or keep doing it. I don't do it to get thanks, I do it because it is what I do. Same thing with saying thanks for a door held open for me.

Years ago (pre Trump-ish) I would say this ratio was nearly even male/female on thank you's for holding open doors. I wonder what has changed recently.... Hmmmm...... Then again I live in a very "liberal" area (ironically women are very "conservative" with their manners, LOL).

Now when there is a merge in traffic male/female doesn't play a noticeable part, people just can't merge. It is proof positive that Americans will simply never get along in any reliable way socially unless forced to do so (stop lights). If I had to speculate, males are typically more aggressive when merging, more so when they hold up their side of the line prior to the merge.

The vaccines have only made things worse on the road, again, no bearing of if it is a male or female. But if I had to speculate i'd lean towards the males being more brain dead on the road post vaxx.

The recent commercial about being seriously obese and "healthy"...

**** it, bring on the collapse of society, we absolutely deserve it.

If this **** makes me sexist, so be it, women get to be unabashedly, seems like true equality then.

I binge watched reacher the other night on prime.

I was pleasantly surprised at the real lack of wokeness. It did star a black main character but he wasn't smarter than any other character and the only nod to the gay/Trans nonsense was an androgynous medical examiner.

Yeah it did have a bit of the small woman big dude trope, but they gave her guns and she got her ass whooped a few times.

Reacher himself started out looking like the typical Brock Samson lunkhead but had a depth to him I didn't expect.

I was quite surprised.

As for walking dead, I shut that **** off 30 mi uses into the first episode. Who the **** climbs into an m1 Abrams in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and doesn't at least try to start it up?

This post is apropos to the reboot of Percy Jackson. The movies were bad enough in that certain key look of characters were changed. But the Dizknee-Minus characters are now of different races. The writer chalks it up to, c'mon, you know the word.

WashPo: "'Percy Jackson' author says backlash to casting is rooted in racism" Exactly, Rick.

I hope it tanks.

RE: Walking Dead: Their learning disabilities were the end of it for me, a few episodes before they killed off Glenn. Repeating the same tactical errors in movement through unknown territories, not being properly armed, "going on a run" like it was a trip to the grocery store to get eggs, with the resulting slaughter or capture (or both) of characters by that point in the story arc just made me shut it off, mid-episode.

Haven't looked back.
