Let me guess. The are starting again in public about "time to move on" and BS like that. Probably some qualifications along the lines of, "it was a challenging time."

Here is something to make your day. A good friend uses Facebook for family and friends stuff, ok, but stay with me. She has been telling me about this Facebook thing black listing restaurants, business and employers who demanded the vexx of patrons and employees. They are rather open about NEVER doing business with them again even after the COVID thing is over. A lot of places never checked vexx cards or bothered patrons or employees. These folks are in the good category.

According to my friend who patronizes a lot of places, IT IS WORKING, and the places which were strict are literally out of business or otherwise struggling in their impending death. She showed me pictures recently of places which she drove by or walked past during times when they should be busy and NOT.

People are using social media groups to shun places for making the wrong choice. There is a lot of punishment going on, and i do not think that it is going to end as owners and management have also been identified.

Yes, it is easier with a small business or concern, however it starts the debate.

My company, a well known global investment banking firm with HQ in Switzerland, still has their vax mandate in place and is set to terminate me when my contract is up at the beginning of June. Fine with me... I'll go somewhere I'm valued enough to allow me to make my own health decisions without putting my ability to earn an income at risk.

The funny part? They are thinking I will be willing to train whoever they get to replace me.

My only response to such a ludicrous request?

@Tsherry- they like to employ lemmings and people who have forgotten that they have independent minds. And spines.
Oh, and they love governing via fear.

Bah, although I whole-heartedly agree with the sentiment, from here it looks like they are still actively pushing the narrative, no sign of letting up with it.
BTW in your feel good story of the day, despite plenty of shots and boosters, the Secretary of the NC Department of Health & Human services today just tested positive for covid.

@KD. They are not worthy of my piss. Urine has a few practical functions, and I won't waste mine on them. Watering grave sites is not on my list. I'd rather watch them catch on fire and then beg for me to extinguish them while I make a puddle about a foot away from their burning corpse. And I'll make it a good, long one, after at least a 12 pack of ****ty grass-cutting type of beers, as I like to call them. Bladder bombs. Just so they can experience my mindset.

Nope...none of that will happen until enough of these places have lost either civil and or criminal cases and forced to pay r restitution. Until then, they will attempt ignore that it happened. He'll I'm still modestly concerned they will attempt to resurrect the mandates.

Sadly you are correct. Well, there may be a small handful of people who admit they were wrong, but the vast majority will never be honest enough with themselves to ever be honest with the rest of us. They'll go on lying to themselves that it was "the best decision at the time" or some such, and there are enough people in high positions with a vested interest in keeping up the ruse the vaxx was a good thing, there will be plenty of air cover for lower level vaxx-pushers.

And that will only go away if we start hanging the big bastards, at which poin the little bastards will be even more reluctant to admit anything.

@Packetcap - It's not "They know", it is "They knew!". They knew all along Covid was not dangerous to the vast majority of the population. They knew all along the Jabs were dangerous, they did not and do not care. There is no forgiveness. There will be satisfaction if they go to prison and are asset stripped to their underwear.

That is a win-win for your employer (or so they think).

They get to replace you with a lower paid employee. After all, a worker is a worker, right?

Also, they get to fire one of their political opponents and replace them with a communist.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Men are at some time masters of their own fate.

When, in 5-years, I am called for jury duty for a case brought by a covid virtual signaling twice boosted tic-tok influencer against a pharmaceutical company for health damages, what would i do?

Recuse myself from the jury thereby denying myself the pleasure of a clown circus?
Side with the company and watch karen tears flow as they realize they are f'd for life with no monetary compensation? Side with karen and grin with malice at a CEO who knows the case is the tip of the iceberg on a collision course?

There's small choice in rotten apples.

Not only did they know, they suppressed any and all dissent!

The same corporations who would put a story in the company newsletter celebrating Bluto if he came to work dressed in 4" heels, nylon stockings, a leather miniskirt, fake boobs, *****-level makeup, and a blonde wig; would send Bluto to HR if he spoke out against the corporate mandates!

Re Sec of NC dept of health and human services.....getting covid isnt enough. Hopefully it is getting a dreadful case of covid.

My doctor bud in NC shared in March 2020 how the state decided not to share the covid case info as they normally would for say, the seasonal flu.

The Sec was in on the plan of the dis information from the get go.

That means they're of team that deserves to be punished financially and criminally.

Both the case counts and positivity rates have increased for 7 consecutive weeks here in Florida. At some point, that is going to cross the line of "high transmission" rate and trip the wire that corporations spent tens of millions paying consultants to determine.

At that point, they will likely try to reintroduce the face diaper mandates. Should be REAL interesting to watch since if they pull that bull****, they are going to******off both groups:

1) People who got the clot shot and think it protects them and were promised "no more face diaper"

2) People who didn't and know that COVID is little-to-no risk to healthy folks

Corporate will really be squirming. Will they******off 90% of their workforce, resulting in lower productivity, or will they tell the 10% covidians to pound sand?

And, oh, it is nearly 90 degrees here in Florida. Next month, the humidity comes with that. Fun times for face-diaper wearers.

A related canard is "Mistakes were made. What can we learn from our mistakes?"

Easily answered.

Our betters never learn from the mistakes of their predecessors because they never face the consequences of their mistakes.

Make them pay. Make it ****ing hurt. Make sure the whole world sees it done.

Then the lessons will be learned. And then the rest of us can move on.

Going through something similar at work

I think the assumption is "If we never say anything, perhaps they will forget!"

Problem is that just drops poison in the well. Now HR and Legal will go behind closed doors and point out that if they admit any wrong doing, there will be harsh legal consequences. So best to let people leave and have a "fresh culture" going forward.

But in a tight job market people talk. People understand.

And people are starting to realize forgiveness without repentance is hollow.

@Bluto- IMO, they were just trying to reduce the headcount and used the mandate as the excuse to swing the axe.

KD wrote..
So, if you're an employer
I am. But I have no need for contrition because I never mandated a damn thing, except for people who were able to WFH while it was required by our Governor and his cross-dressing eunuch Secretary of Health.

I have some employees who went and got vax'd and some who didn't. It was never a secret that I, the owner was, shall we say, skeptical about those injections, but I made it clear that it was completely an individual choice. Nobody really cares whether anyone else did or didn't get jabbed.

What I did do very early on, when they were pretty much unobtanium and people though they might be useful was to lay in a substantial supply of surgical masks; plenty for each employee and every member of their family to use as intended (i.e. one time and then throw it the trash), but I never told anyone that they had to wear them.

I did have one person, an hourly employee, come down with the Coof in the spring of 2021. Her whole family got it and she landed in the hospital for about a week, despite only being a bit over 40 years old and not an ounce overweight. She was out of work for a couple or three weeks. I paid her for the hours she would normally have been working the entire time.

So I haven't fired anyone, and nobody has quit either. Productivity has not declined. We're doing as much or more than we did in 2019 with the same people. Funny how that works, isn't it?

I will never forget the disoriented and angry feeling while waiting for the very ill-informed Supreme Court Justices to decide my fate. I survived at my place of employment but sense my career has been damaged.
I will never forget my mother, driven by some combination of Madcow, Goodman, and the NY Times, stating, "do you know the repercussions of what you have done? You will never see your family again!" Ironically, if vaccine complications continue to develop, she may be correct in some cases.
There are businesses I will never return to and friendships that will not be rekindled.
There is no longer a mask mandate here in my area of CA, however, many people are still wearing them. At first, I thought to myself, "go ahead and wear as many masks as you like, as long as I do not have to." But lately, I find it very annoying.
