Tantrump's 'Deal' With MX Is A Fraud

The so-called "deal" to stave off Mexican tariffs is a scam.

First, there's no evidence required before the tariffs were dropped.  That alone makes it a scam.  Mexico has every reason to keep the over $20 billion a year flowing in from the US to "families" -- many of them coyotes.  It's a huge percentage of their economic "progress" and they will not stop it.

That, incidentally, would be the simple way to stop all of this crap.  Shut off the money.  Make it illegal to send money out of the US unless you are a lawful permanent resident or citizen and impose 1099 requirements on anyone sending more than $600 a year.  To do that you have to keep records, and you have to demand identification.  Doing that shuts down the coyote payments and thus most of the so-called "migrants" since there's no way to pay the coyote once said illegal invader gets here.

Second, these "caravans" are a scam.  They're so easy to find that if Mexico wanted to shut them down completely it would be trivial to do so.  They don't and haven't.  The token show of "force" will do nothing.  Mark my words.

We'll see.  If the numbers for June illegal border crossings are under 10,000 I'll tip my hat to Trump as "success."

But it won't be -- it's virtually guaranteed not to be, because Trump didn't insist on verification before the tariffs were suspended and thus he won't get anything more than what Mexico was doing before the threat.

You #MAGA idiots, on the other hand, also won't stop giving Trump fellatio for yet another fold.  The line forms here and I'm going to sell kneepads.

We will have to see. Trump needs this victory so he might enforce his tariffs if they don't comply. Not holding g my breath tho.

It's all about the markets. Everything this past week was time to juice the markets even though nothing new happened. The bubble gets bigger every day along with the lies.
Stopping remittances by illegals will stop this cold. Mexico would bend over immediately with that action.

You should make a fortune. I can't believe the number of folks I know that are still talking about all the "good things" he is doing. When I bring up healthcare and the illegals (although most of them agree with me regarding the illegals) they counter with, "But, he's done......" Uh huh.

In the United States last year, more than $120 billion was sent by workers to families abroad - making it the largest sender of remittances in the world. More than $23 billion went to Mexico, $13.45 billion to China, $10.84 billion to India and $10 billion to the Philippines, among other recipients.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article....

$120 billion/year is being sent out of the country out of a ~$20 trillion/year economy, so about 6%. That 6% isn't available to chase goods and services in the US, so, as I understand it, we are "reducing" inflation here by that amount and propping up the economies of the countries to which it goes. I'm all for stopping remittances, but I'd like to understand the consequences. First would be economic collapse of the other countries. What happens in the US?

By the way, it figures that the UN would celebrate this: International Day of Family Remittances is 16 June.

Lobo - 0.6 percent not 6.

And last I heard there were about 5000 illegals crossing into the USA PER DAY now. I dont think anyone really has an accurate number - how do you count people who are never seen or caught ?

As I said the other day: Occupy Mexico

They have a much smaller Southern Border and it will be less environmentally damaging if we build a wall there.

We annex their States, shoot their corrupt cartel leaders, politicians and declare Mexican Reconstruction after the Second Mexican American War has ended.

It will be much easier to police, it will end the criminals, we will be able to actually assimilate them as Americans by setting up schools teaching American History and Civics.

We can't absorb all the riffraff from all of Central and South America but we can add Mexico to the Union.

Calhoun was a fool for opposing Mexican Annexation after the Mexican American War. We were already an occupying power, we could have saved ourselves 150 years of trouble and enriched and grown the United States.

Most definitely a fraud.

According to this BBC news article (httpX://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-48586457) (change the X to an s), the "deal" appears to cover only the stopping/slowing down of the invasion by so-called "migrants" from south of Mexico. There appears to be ZERO mention of stopping Mexican illegals.

Thus, even if Mexico abided by the terms of the "deal", while still somewhat helpful, it would do very little in a big picture sense. And, quite frankly, I doubt if Mexico will be very diligent about fulfilling their promises about the "migrants", either.

I firmly believe that ours also need to be taken care of for there to be any improvement.

The large meteor strike that takes out ALL of the DC politicians of BOTH parties and their lackeys can't come soon enough.

Another 300 plus Africans coming in. What the hell is wrong with Trump. He as President can stop this and isn't doing it. Screw the left wing judges. This is a national security issue when possible Ebola infections arrive at the border.

Kochevnik - Thanks. 0.6%.
So step 1 has to be closing the border. If the economies of Latin America collapse, they will all head Norte. Same when the Greater Depression hits.

Along with the uncertainty of how many illegals are here, trying to figure out how much money is being shipped out is a WAG, at best. I found dozens of unsupported numbers ranging from $20 billion to $300 billion per year. The Daily Mail article at least references the World Bank for it's numbers. I went to the World Bank and easily found the remittances data, but it doesn't add up to $120 billion. Western Union probably has a very good idea of how much money heads out.
