Look at the twisted nonsense...

Barr, in a sit-down interview with CBS News, was asked whether he agreed with previous comments Trump has made suggesting some people with ties to the former president’s administration had done so.

“You don’t think that they have committed treason?” Barr was asked by reporter Jan Crawford.

“Not as a legal matter,” he replied. “Sometimes people can convince themselves that what they're doing is in the higher interest and better good.

Of course it's not Treason as a legal matter.

Treason is very-narrowly defined in the Constitution; in point of fact it's the only federal crime addressed in the Constitution directly, and with good cause. The charge of Treason was mightily abused by both the British and others over the millennia, so the Founders (rightly so) greatly restricted it.

Article 3, Section 3:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

Since we're not at war formally with anyone, and certainly not informally with the Democrat party to conspire with them to deny a fair election cannot be Treason. It can certainly constitute a host of other crimes, however.

Of course Fox takes the further statement of Barr -- that these actions were antithetical to the democratic system we have and tries to turn that into a mere "misunderstanding."

Nope. This was no mere misunderstanding; Mueller knowingly hired people who had already known there was no Russian Collusion and so did he. This knowledge, and that "evidence" presented to the FISA court, was corrupted, politically motivated and likely false was known to the DOJ and FBI long prior to his appointment and intentionally concealed. That's illegal on its face; intentional false statements, whether by omission or commission in any official proceeding (including a FISA application) constitute perjury, which is a crime.

In addition the evidence strongly suggests that parts of the FBI and DOJ attempted to actively interfere with and overthrow the 2016 election. The exact particular offenses there are yet to be determined but there are plenty of them that are almost-certainly able to be proved if dug into and exposed, from suborning perjury to violations of civil rights under color of Law or Authority -- and perhaps even Seditious Conspiracy.

Yes, we need answers to those questions, and no, Barr did not excuse any of that.

For mainstream media this was not too bad. the others are basically denying that anything wrong happened to start the investigations.all the idiots in congress should be demanding that the Fisa warrants and the impetus to start the collusion bull**** be investigated. I personally think that Trump calling for Putin to release Hillary's emails gave someone the idea !
I agree that the alleged actions if true do not rise to the definition of treason in the constitution . they could be called treasonous as they do fit that definition.
treason (ˈtri zən)

1. the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; treachery.
[11751225; Middle English tre(i)so(u)n < Anglo-French; Old French trason < Latin trāditiōnem, acc. of trāditiō a handing over. See tradition]
syn: treason, sedition mean disloyalty or treachery to one's country or its government. treason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance. According to the U.S. Constitution, it is the crime of levying war against the U.S. or giving aid and comfort to its enemies. sedition is any act, writing, speech, etc., directed unlawfully against state authority, the government, or the constitution, or calculated to bring it into contempt or to incite others to hostility or disaffection; it does not amount to treason and therefore is not a capital offense.

I find it astonishing that people think Bill Barr, career DC insider, is going to prosecute the other DC insiders for their crimes. People never learn, even after the same thing happens over and over again. DC will not clean up DC.

But lets assume Barr would prosecute the crimes. Theres been nearly three years for the swamp rats to cover their tracks. Sure, some underling will be thrown under the bus so they can say they are draining the swamp. But Im willing to bet that all the evidence on anyone significant has already been thoroughly extinguished.

Stupidity of the masses has no bounds.

We had a fatal car accident in my county that illustrates the problem very well. A driver ran a red light and T-boned a smaller car. Both occupants of the smaller car died. The driver was released after the police determined no drugs, alcohol, or texting was involved.

A few months later, the local " persecutor " gave a statement that the red light runner would not be charged. I instantly told my wife " This guy is connected somehow, I would be UNDER the jail for killing two young kids "

Turns out, the killer driver owns a school bus company. The local fake news rag omitted that fact. Killer driver was so remorseful that he drove a busload of kids later that day. The school district found out and will not let him drive buses anymore.

There is no rule of law. I will not salute the flag because it no longer works for middle class, law abiding, working people. If a local cop ever asks me a question, I will lawyer up and tell the cop why.

Just my tinfoil hat theory but what if the deal is already made. No impeachment and no prosecution of the Deep State? But what if they've now pissed off Bill Barr and he has decided WTF let's roll??? Bill Barr is certainly acting as if he has zero ****s left to give. He might have more balls than The Donald.
