It's an old article but Boobus Americanus needs several whacks with a 2x4 to the head, it seems.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — As a pharmaceutical company run by US Sen. Joe Manchin’s daughter faces scrutiny for hiking prices on life-saving allergy injection pens, Manchin is remaining mum.

The Democratic West Virginia senator’s daughter, Heather Bresch, is CEO of Mylan, which manufactures EpiPens.

Remember that?

Of course you don't.  Manchin is still in office, you haven't laid siege to his house nor that of his daughter, and exactly how many people have gone to prison under 15 USC Chapter 1 in the medical industry?  That would be ZERO.

Remember, this was reported on before the 2016 election.  It had been going on for years at that point, all the while Demoncraps were crowing about how wonderful Obamacare was and Rethuglicans were passing dozens of "repeal" bills which they knew Obama would veto.

Trump promised to stop all this bull**** with no fewer than three bullet points on his campaign web site, and he could have on the day of his inauguration by directing the DOJ to start indicting people.

He didn't (said bullet points disappeared literally on the night of the election) and still hasn't done a damn thing, instead spending his "twitter" capital on bitching about being spied on (which did happen, and appears to have been illegal.)

But Trump hasn't done one thing about the financial rape job you're subjected to daily by the medical industry.

Just as Obama didn't.

Just as Manchin's progeny profited tremendously.

And you, Boobus Americanus, think "Medicare for All" will solve any part of this, just as you thought Obamacare would let you "keep your doctor."  You let Mickey Mc****ell, Nancy Pelosuck, Chucky ****mer, Maximum WateryCrap and Adam Schitt continue to bray on about this or that while you're financially raped blind on a daily basis -- $25 per day, per-person in the United States.

You already know damn well that both Democrat and Republican will simply continue to rob you blind.  You have hard proof right in front of you in the form of a daughter of a sitting Senator who did exactly that under a Democrat administration and continues to be a free and very wealthy woman today.

GFY with a rusty chainsaw folks until you find your pitchfork and torch -- that is, if you're not so ******ned obese and out of shape you can't manage to lift either one.

Four years ago when my daughter was 15 she started having an allergic reaction to something and her lower lip would swell to 2 or 3 times its normal size. We never did figure out what was causing it but the doctor suggested we carry an epi-pen since it was near hear airway. I knew that epinephrine had been around decades and wouldn't have been under a patent so when my wife brought it home and told me that it cost over $500 I about flipped out. The pharmacist is a friend so I asked him what was up. He gave me the details and suggested we could get an ampule and a syringe for a few bucks. If it would have been me with the allergic reaction I would have opted for the syringe but a 15 year old is a different deal.

I don't understand why there hasn't been any blow-back from the medical community. Why hasn't every doctor in the nation when the Mylan pharma rep walks into their office with the low cut blouse the tight skirt and heels told them: "You've got us over a barrel with the epi-pen. Fine, I will prescribe it when it is necessary but I will never prescribe another Mylan drug as long as you keep screwing my patients."

Karl you are totally right and have been every time you posted on the subject. You don't need me to post that, but it feels good to do so anyway. Unfortunately, the question is begged "Who watches The Watchmen?", there is no truly independent, non-career ad hoc service not elected or appointed, citizens legal representation against government overreach/slackness/corruption/willful blindness/blahblahblah. The frustration builds, the promises are made (sold for votes), then broken. Every time. The frustration builds yet again. Over and over. Broker and broker we all get.

You don't see this going to internal shooting war, I can't conceive of it not because I don't see that general strike without visible collusion that you see ever happening. I hope I'm wrong and you are right, I really hope so because I don't want to be shot or incarcerated for life for shooting, but...ugh.

@Supernumb -- At this point I would vote "NOT GUILTY!" if on a jury and someone flat-out assassinated ANY of the people either directly involved in this crap or who have and continue to enable it (whether directly or as a beneficiary of same.) And yeah, that's a VERY long list.

It wouldn't matter if they did it on 40 surveillance cameras and loudly proclaimed "I ****ING DID IT!"

In the immortal words of "Stern":

NOT GUILTY!

after sinus surgery my dr prescribed xhance. i picked up the first month supply and the cost was $450. i looked at the ingredients and it is the same as flonase, which is available over the counter for less than $10. The only difference is it has a delivery system where you blow thru a tube to blow the medicine into your nose rather than the squeeze bottle that flonase has always come in. so this company patented the delivery system, much like the epi-pen. ****ing theives.

@Karl - It's good to know what you'd do on that jury, BUT - I'm not in FL, you won't be on my jury and...sadly...even if you ever are, what will the other 11 angry men do? Reality is you can't start shooting until everyone else is, and at that point there's no judges, juries, any of that...it's reset, unless highly localized and...thus squashed. And we know what THAT jury is going to do, right? Hopefully in time to get home to catch South Park or the Simpsons new episode too!

@Comrader - I'm allegric, in varying degrees but always 'seriously', to all seafood and all poulty. Yes it's true and THANK YOU JESUS for making so many Cows and Pigs to eat. We all know, if you're low carb (I am, thanks for that Karl!) you're going to need some serious meat calories and protein, not just endless boiled eggs (I'm at my max already, about x4 per day, but it gets old). Anyway, every new person I meet same conversation: I explain my allergy and they ask why don't I carry and epi-pen. Well...because I refuse to participate in health insurance (lol) and I intentionally self-employ under the threshold for federal taxation (that's right, starve myself but starve the beast too --- eff 'em!) so there's no way I'm paying out-of-pocket CASH MONEY for a dumb epi-pen when all I have to do is not eat that stuff and make VERY VERY SURE they don't cook everything next to each other on the grill at Applebee's (or wherever).

But priced-to-actual-demand epi-pen should would be easier and I'd also dodge the possibilty of going into shock and some idiot calling in a helicopter ride to the friggin' ER "for me", right?!

Life is a beach.

Epipens, like insulin, have been around long enough, should be cheap enough that you literally should be able to buy them in 7-11 next to the Coca Cola.

That they aren't tells you everything you need to know about the rape-job going on.

Every first aid kit should have an epi-pen in it, and be cheap enough to replace yearly.
