You knew it would happen.

There are those who have claimed that the "open letter" accusing the Catholic Hierarchy, including three successive Popes, of intentional blindness and obstruction related to priestly abuse of young men and boys was nothing more than a vicious and libelous attack.

Well, it either was or wasn't -- and it looks like it's "wasn't".

VATICAN CITY (AP) — A 2006 letter from a top Vatican official confirms that the Holy See received information in 2000 about the sexual misconduct of now-resigned U.S. cardinal, lending credibility to bombshell accusations of a cover-up at the highest echelons of the Roman Catholic Church.

Catholic News Service, the news agency of the U.S. bishops’ conference, published the letter Friday from then-Archbishop Leonardo Sandri to the Rev. Boniface Ramsay, a New York priest who made the initial allegation.

Ramsay informed the Vatican in a November 2000 letter about then Cardinal Theodore McCarrick’s misconduct with seminarians from Seton Hall University’s Immaculate Conception Seminary. Ramsay, who in 2000 was on the faculty at the seminary, has said he sent the letter at the request of the then-Vatican ambassador because he had heard so many complaints from seminarians that McCarrick would invite them to his beach house and into his bed.

Oops.

This is hard corroborating evidence that Pope John Paul II knew McCarrick was a sexual predator before he made him a Cardinal.

In addition it's also damning evidence that Pope Benedict, who followed, not only failed to do anything about it but also intentionally covered it up.

Nice try at deflection SatanFrancis; what we now appear to have is solid evidence that there have been three successive alleged "Popes" who were explicitly involved up to their necks -- necks that should have been be indicted, tried, convicted and then hung.

And oh by the way, that's still possible for two out of the three isn't it?

I'm not catholic and don't keep up with all the saints, so which one gets to be the Patron Saint of Cover-ups? They could have a cool little medallion depicting a blindfolded Lady Justice sans sword and scales with a ball gag in her mouth.
I bet they would be a very popular Saint with government officials / employees all over the world.

It gets even better! Pope John Paul II managed to get Cardinal Law out of the US and put him up in a mansion in Rome. Law basically destroyed the Boston Archdiocese by his deft maneuvering of homosexual predator priests from one parish to another for way too many years. This has been very thoroughly documented by Phil Lawler. The archdiocese had to close and sell many of the parishes to pay off the molested young men. Cardinal Law was extracted from the country before the authorities could charge him for his crimes.

One might think that enabling homosexual predators, and initiating a coverup by the Pope should be a barrier to sainthood, but that was obviously not the case. It would only be the case for a Church that actually followed its long standing principles.

I have read Archbishop Vigano's scathing Testimony numerous times. It has become increasingly clear to me and to plenty of others that the Catholic Church is an oligarchy largely run by homosexual predators in defiance of the Church's Teachings. I left the Church before all of this came to light, and was sadly not surprised by the perfidy and the resulting cover-ups. The only way this will ever change is for the long suffering laity to withhold their contributions. But most will not, fearing that their parishes might be closed. This is foolish, because there are many parishes that have been closed to fund the payments to those who were molested over the years.

(I don't know if Breitbart is considered to be a reputable site. If it is not, please delete this post.)
(www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/09/11/pope-francis-compares-vatican-whistleblower-satan/ - note that this is an https link)

The Pope appears to be casting blame for this on the leaker(s) of the info - almost as if he were saying that if it weren't made public, it wouldn't be too bad.
Breitbart wrote..
"The Great Accuser, as he himself tells God in the first chapter of the Book of Job, roams around the earth looking for someone to accuse," Francis said in his morning homily at Mass in the chapel of the Santa Marta residence in the Vatican.

In these times "it seems that the Great Accuser has been unleashed and has it in for the bishops," the pope said.

"It is true, we are all sinners, we bishops," he said, but the Great Accuser" seeks to unveil sins so that they may be seen, to scandalize the people." ( - bolded emphasis is mine)

It would seem to indicate that the pope doesn't believe hell exists, or that they'll ever have to stand before God and 'splain anything

Trump's Tower was bugged. Far worse than they let us know. And Obama knew all about it. Corruption of that level goes all the way to the top. Sally Yates doesn't approve it.

And the same goes here. Corruption at this level goes all the way to the Pope. Some Bishop doesn't approve it. It goes to the top.

And if for some reason it doesn't go to the top he takes the fall anyway. That's what happens to leaders.

Karl, I would not be surprised if that hasn't already happened. So, tip that glass of Fine Scotch just in case.

A number of people have already mentioned that if Satan were to try to destroy the Catholic Church, this would be the best strategy to use.

My reading of the Bible suggests that Satan is much more of a tempter than an accuser. When Satan was tempting Christ, he offered him the rulership of the world, which gives us a pretty good idea of who really runs politics. That was tempting, but not accusing. This pope is just trying to cover his butt, and those of his fellow predators.

Is it me, or is it increasingly clear that a large portion of global leadership, have risen to power because they are easily extorted due to demonstrated lack moral compass.

This implies some puppet master and fails Occam's Razor. Perhaps I need to adjust my tin foil had :P

All this proves is that the 100 Heads Insurance Company is alive and well, and it is simply a matter of people's willingness to cut the crap to FORCE all this garbage to stop.

It's simple: You tell your local pastor that if YOUR son or daughter is tampered with at any time HE DIES and so does EVERYONE involved who knows about it, covers it up or does ANYTHING other than report and prosecute it -- and that you don't give a **** if you go to Hell for doing so, as you consider it completely appropriate if you're damned for doing so. In addition you will make damn sure it hurts -- a LOT. You tell him this with steel eyes, and make damn sure he understands you mean it.

Guess how long this **** lasts once that starts? Not FIVE SECONDS.

If you're too much of a pussy to do that and MEAN IT then you're NOT a father -- you're a sperm fountain and as far as I'm concerned you can **** off and get off my lawn right now.

Why are there no charges?

Wiki: Accessory after the fact.

To be convicted of an accessory charge, the accused must generally be proved to have had actual knowledge that a crime was going to be, or had been, committed. Furthermore, there must be proof that the accessory knew that his or her action, or inaction, was helping the criminals commit the crime, or evade detection, or escape. A person who unknowingly houses a person who has just committed a crime, for instance, may not be charged with an accessory offense because they did not have knowledge of the crime.
