Being on your deathbed is frequently a quiet affair.  Occasionally someone figures out that they can go settle scores (for real) before they are incapacitated, is not afraid of the voodoo-style "you'll burn in Hell forever if you do that" incantations, and does so.

But then you have McCain, who had ghost-written a "biography" of sorts that he just had to make sure actually got out, at least in leaks, before his eternal dirt nap commenced.  The only reason to do that was so he could personally gloat at screwing others.

Again.

I've never had any respect for him; my derision and hatred isn't about politics at all, it's about what he did to his first wife, a woman who stayed with him even through he was imprisoned in the Hanoi Hilton, and who he then ditched for a very wealthy -- prettier -- and not-injured replacement.

Oh, and she financed his political ambitions too.

It paid off good for McCain, of course, but he's going to find out if there's a Hell soon enough, and if there is, I'll see him there whenever it's my turn.

You're a dick, John.  You always have been.

I still voted for him, rather than vote for the one who defeated him, and was endorsed by another Senator with similar health issues, Ted Kennedy (not to mention his other issues).

"...I'll see him there whenever it's my turn."

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Today's modern day "Christian" is so feminized one can hardly imagine what a male Christian is suppose to look like. Go to church, plop a few bucks in the plate...Hey, look at me, I'm saved...pffff!

Soon enough there will be a massive grease fire with the flames licking our feet from below.

**** Songbird WetStart Mc****Stain. An entitled spoiled brat piece of ****. Graduated USNA by the skin of his teeth. ****ed over his first wife. Skated on the Keating Five deal. Possibly the original RINO. Claims history will show that Republicans are on the wrong side if the immigration deal.

Need I go on?

You are right on spot. Simple rules are usually the best ones. Like what I was told by a 74 years old neighbor (who, while retired, is still working as a plumber). "Never trust a man who betrayed his wife. If someone betrayed the person that trusted him to rise a family, he will betray you with no remorse".

We were talking about people who failed to pay. He had the policy or asking bigger upfront payment from divorced people...I smiled when I realized what that small talk about my family and his family was about when he first came to see the work.

ditto, his first wife was a lovely human being even after her accident, perhaps he did her a favor by freeing her from him. still majorly sucks, it gives me chills to even contemplate doing this to my spouse.

here is something much more profound regarding death and spirituality from a somewhat unlikely source so that we do not get caught in the tragedy of McSlime's bastardization of his ending.

I can't say I've ever detested any politician more than Senator ****stain. Trump should just tweet a quote by Mark Twain when this POS is planted in the ground, "I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it."

Twain had a number of quotable gems, and one of my favorites that could also apply here: "We have the best government that money can buy."

I got a lot of push back on FB (back when I was still on there) for expressing my sincere hope upon learning of McCain's cancer that he die screaming in agony.

I meant it then, and still mean it now.

I've lived in Arizona on and off (mostly on) since the early 80's. My first acquaintance with John McCain was early in his political career. There was an event to help out people with limited or fixed income by spending a day doing maintenance and yard work, etc. at their homes. Mine was a group of about 10 from my church, and we worked from early morning to late afternoon. As we were finishing the work, up rolls John McCain with photographer in tow to get a picture. "Cool," I thought, but then McCain jumps into the photo to get a picture (ostensibly of all the hard work he'd done). Any kind of respect he may have earned from me evaporated at that point. It was only later that I learned of his divorce and remarriage. He's always struck me as an opportunist politician through and through.

I remember my E-7 Platoon leader giving us a lecture out in the Vietnamese Jungle. He told us to save our last cartridge for ourselves, because We Didn't Even Want to Be Captured! He then told us that our First Sergeant escaped from a North Korean POW camp while blinded by his wounds. He had been carrying one of his wounded buddies, when a 82 mm mortar round hit the guy he was carrying, killing him instantly and blinding our Top. Now, escaping from a POW camp under those circumstances, is a true example of heroism. I keep recalling this whenever I hear McCain being called a hero. He is hardly a hero. He is a scoundrel.
