The Firing of Comey
[Comments enabled]

The Leftside screamfest on Comey's firing is amusing.

Let's look at this, and what I've said before on Comey and the email issues.

First, for the FBI director to issue what amounts to an indictment in public and then recommend no indictment is something that I had never seen before -- and said so.  That was clearly a political decision, not a law-enforcement one.  You simply can't lay out all of the elements of a criminal offense, which I remind you Comey did (and I reported on at the time) and then say "oh, but no reasonable prosecutor would bring a case" and have that be anything other than politics.

That, standing alone, was enough to get Comey canned, and Obama should have done it instantly.  But he didn't.

What appears to be icing on the cake, however, was Comey's apparent false testimony that Huma forwarded hundreds or even thousands of classified emails to Weiner.  He made that statement under oath and was forced to retract it in a letter -- apparently the truth is that there were only a couple.

Why does this matter?  Quite clearly it does; there's a huge difference between accidentally doing something and intentionally and maliciously doing it.  Intentionally feeding an uncleared person classified information, which is exactly what Comey's testimony sounded like coupled with a failure to recommend an indictment of Huma was a clear declaration of political interference with law enforcement.

As it turns out that wasn't what happened at all.

Was that likely responsible for accelerating or simply confirming a decision already underway?  Yes.  I believe that's exactly what happened.

There is an extremely serious issue in the FBI today when it comes to political interference with law enforcement.  We saw it repeatedly during Obama's term; Fast-n-Furious, which resulted in multiple deaths, including one of our own border agents and countless Mexican citizens yet led to no charges, a clear and apparent violation of the law when it comes to Hillary and her staff which also led to no charges and more.

Nowhere is this more-serious in terms of its economic impact, however, than in the health care arena where it is my considered opinion that literal hundreds of thousands of violations of 15 USC are committed daily by actors in that sector and yet not one investigation say much less prosecution has taken place.

Is this all at the feet of Obama?  Hell no.  The FBI has ignored that issue for a literal 30 years!  Never mind what certainly looked to me like bank fraud when it comes to all the robosigning and other games played with deeds and records, all of which was intended to, and did, induce banks to make loans and sell paper that in fact were worthless.

Comey had to go -- and that he kept putting his schwantz in his own mouth on national television was a national disgrace repeated time after time for anyone who cared to look.  That doing so screwed this person or that depending on which day it was doesn't surprise.

Is this "the dawn of a new age" when it comes to the FBI and its leadership?  I doubt it.  But at some point you have to take the clumsy political hack and cut his head off on television even if the only thing you do to replace him is find someone who's a political hack but can engage his brain first.

This has been a long time coming. Comey should as you said been fired a long time ago for being part of the political cover ups. I'm betting the NYPD was jumping for joy when he got canned yesterday.

What they supposedly got off Wieners computer was a treasure trove of corruption and pedophilia through out the New York and Washington DC elites, media and bureaucrats state and Federal. Comey's FBI was threatening the NYPD to stop all their investigations involving the Clinton's and Wiener's it was now a federal case. Comey has been stone walling Wienergate from the beginning to protect the Clinton's.

I'm wondering if Bill and Hillary are now on suicide watch or looking for a place to move without an extradition treaty with the U.S..

Maybe the Swamp will start to get drained now that the FBI gatekeeper is gone.

I read Sessions letter, which was to recommend firing, based on another letter, from an assistant AG, who had solicited opinions from the AG's from the past. Comey's decision was based on the idea Lynch wouldn't prosecute, thus Comey made the decision for her. Even Holder offered an opinion Comey had violated his position and over stepped his bounds. He took on authority he didn't have.

His reasoning, based on his testimony, was compared to robbing a bank. The bank robber had a gun, stuck it in the face of the teller, took the money, but claimed he didn't mean to have the gun, thus he didn't really rob the bank.

The Russian story is one that was at least 99% made up. It is a smoke screen created by the DNC, Obama, Hillary, Podesta and adopted as the primary means of attack to derail Trump. There is absolutely no evidence that the Russians hacked the DNC. The Trump campaign official under investigation was in the Ukraine, doing the same thing the Podestas and Biden's son were doing, pirating the country. The IMF was on its way and there was going to be a fire sale of property and influence. Comey was dragging out a fake narrative.

Trump needs to do some more firing. I suggest they investigate the ties of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to the Russians. There are piles of evidence against the Clintons and Podesta. Hundreds of millions made off influence peddling.

I don't know a soul who voted for Trump because the Russians interfered. Yet Hillary had a chance because the top US law enforcement agencies dropped the ball and looked the other way. Why not look into the connection between the Clinton campaign and the Soros PAC that raised and spent 7 figure donations for her. Soros needs to be investigated, as he is involved in destabilizing governments around the world, including ours and Ukraine. These crimes are in plain sight, not some rumor that after 6 months, is kept alive by Obama leftovers in the intelligence agencies. The evidence on the hackings have been disputed by experts, put out there, only by the DNC. In the meantime, the emails reveal what a low life Hillary really is, how little she thinks of the common man and how rigged the final presidential election process is. Sit and watch how true organized crime works, as they destroy Trump, who wasn't in anyone's plans, as it pertains to the process.

I will throw in one other thing. Make that 2. Karl keeps drumming the health care legislation and lack of action on the industry. The Democratic Party is at least honest, in the sense they want to use health care to enslave us. The Republicans take no such moral position, yet can't come to grips with a different solution. Private health care costs, because the government brought the bureaucracy into the industry and destroyed the non profit structure of many hospitals, turning them into organized crime syndicates for the various bureaucracies. Take away insurance and some nonsense FDA regulations and pharmaceuticals become affordable by most. The entire mess is created by government and it is now clear the swamp for this matter exists in both houses of Congress and in the majority of both parties. The debate is merely posturing for more central control. It is time to get rid of the US Government involvement in health.

The other issue is the climate change agreement. If Trump doesn't reject this issue, then he will no longer have my support and the issue of economic freedom is dead. This is the backdoor to a worldwide socialist economic system, based largely on fraud. There is no proof, nor is there even logical evidence. The science is the same as we were given years ago on heart problems. The real evidence is that it isn't historically warm, nor is CO2 at historically high levels.

We are at an all time historical level of crisis in modern times. The party is over and the deck chairs are being rearranged to save the establishment, at the cost of the common man. We are being set up to eat each other, while the elites stand to the side. Don't give up your guns.

Als, the swamp has already drained Trump. To drain the swamp, about 300 people in Congress have to go and be replaced by non swamp creatures. That would give enough of a majority to drain all issues, as at least 450 of them are swamp creatures at the present. Half the bureaucracy needs to be fired and the Federal Government needs to get out of a lot of businesses. A 25% unemployment rate in DC would be evidence this had occurred.

The swamp will be drained, because this sucker is going down. The private sector cannot support more government, more debt, etc. California is riding on a financial stock bubble that imperils it, every time a bear market appears. The Trump tax plan does away with state tax deductions, which will likely only impact the well to do. This needs to remain, as it isn't the job of low tax states to subsidize the big spenders.

The camels nose in health care was tax free benefits to employees. The entire health system was built around this nonsense. If employees received an addition on their tax equivalent to the cost of their plans, many would rather have the money. There are better ways to handle year to year health than to put money in a high maintenance system. Health life insurance plans would be preferable to handle what health brings us. One could be designed for $100 a month in a competitive system, that over time would keep all insurable. They could be combined with an HSA that would have cash value. It would pay on disasters, the HSA would prevent lapse and allow withdrawal for non insured problems and the system would be forced to compete for the marginal dollar. Most illnesses that confront people in their productive years can be handled for under $20k, in competitive medicine. That includes the commonly billed $100k back and neck surgeries, most of which aren't available in socialized medicine countries on demand.

Don't forget, we are disposable by the establishment. Refugees and illegal aliens, regardless of what you believe, can replace most of us.

Comey clearly effed-up and deserved to get ****-canned.

He let himself get drawn into the political circus show by opening his yap on the email investigation. He should have just released a statement saying "I can neither confirm nor deny the investigation" and left it at that. If Lynch was obstructing let it be her problem. For some reason it looks like he fell on his own sword there.

Then he repeated the same mistake in his testimony to Congress this year, in response to a question about the "Russian election interference" investigation. Again, he should have gone with the traditional "The FBI does not comment on internal matters" line.

Agree 100% with you Mannfm that the swamp has drained Trump.

It seems almost nobody likes Comey.
He has few defenders.
Of course it never looks good to fire someone who's investigating you.

But Trump IS the swamp and has always been the swamp.
His election promises were as hollow as any politician's have ever been.
Many of his appointees and hires could just as easily have been Hillary's - or Obama's - or Bush's.

There are (typical & expected) rumors of an upcoming flood of leaks regarding Trump. That may be the only way any truth is revealed about the current situation.

another point about comey and the rule of law... he apparently admitted to congress the other day that he blatantly ignored oversight reporting requirements... and congressional oversight has now proceeded to ignore that in turn.

The way I see things now is what Comey did back in July was declare that the rule of law was officially dead in the USA.

He was supposed to be the top cop in the USA, his job was to gather evidence and then when he finds a crime has been committed hand it all over to the DOJ. The decision to prosecute was not his to make.

The main point I would make, prosecuting Hillary is not an option. Trump needs to pull his head out of his ass and let the DOJ charge her and Huma. They clearly violated the LAW numerous times. IF he does not do that, the deep state will destroy Trump completely. And he will deserve to be destroyed. Hillary and Bill are literal criminals they do not play far and they are not nice people.

Trump go after Hillary or you deserve what you get.

About Comey and Weiner: They've found 10's of thousands of classified emails on his laptop, and Comey has YET to interview him? That also could have contributed to his firing.

This guy has an interesting theory, which would support that Abedin only forwarded a handful of emails to Anthony. Basically, he thinks that Hillary, (using the Awan brothers), setup a blackberry email network (and private wifi network) to get government intel to others outside of government in a pay-to-play scheme.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uMtfif2....

From his perspective, Anthony was in on it, helping distribute the phones to contributors. He had his own blackberry sync wirelessly with his outlook on his laptop every time he connected at home.

It's on the edge of tinfoil, but might be possible. I wouldn't put it past Hillary, that's for sure. He has a number of follow-up videos as he fleshes it out. If anything, it's pretty good tin.

CrowdStrike, the company that conducted the DNC server examination is known for blatantly falsifying reports that implicate the Russians. Even the Ukraine government, who needs all the help they can get against Russia, has denounced CrowdStrike.

McCabe is the next needed to go for taking a $500,000 bribe from Terry McAuliffe the same month (March '15) the FBI began investigating the Hillary home server.

He's stonewalled the Hillary email and Clinton Global Initiative investigations.

With Karl's decrease in posting - I have been watching a great deal more of Youtube. George Webb's series on "Ratlines" and the Awan brothers is all sourced and documented. Is great series and great use of open source data and citizen journalists.

After spending a lot of time on his youtube channel yesterday, I agree, Crystalclear. George Webb and his investigation and conclusions appear logical and legit. I no longer think it's potential tinfoil.

Apparently, McCabe and George have a history - some event in the past where the FBI was trying to frame someone and McCabe helped get the guy off by exposing the FBI. George Webb mentioned that he's hoping that this current investigation he's doing finally gets McCabe off of him.

Nolaguy, incorrect. George got the guy off, exposing the FBI in the process.

He's on the COINTELPRO program and that does not end well.

Best journalism on the interwebs right now.
