I don't. I think he is just overly sensitive to being called a disgusting racial slur as I believe was covertly directed at HIM, the boat rocker, in that van incident, perhaps by someone who knew it was his pet peeve trigger word.
His justified complaints within the LAPD led to bad relations with fellow cops, which led to more complaints on his part which led to even worse relations which led to this. That's exactly the path of typical workplace mobbings, they escalate, sometimes eventually to violence.

In addition to what Winstonsmith2009 just said, it was not as simple as Dorner hearing the word "******" once.
Christopher Dorner, in his manifesto wrote..
While traveling back to the station in a 12 passenger van I heard ----- refer to another individual as a ******. I wasn’t sure if I heard correctly as there were many conversations in the van that was compiled of at least 8 officers and he was sitting in the very rear and me in the very front. Even with the multiple conversations and ambient noise I heard Officer ----- call an indivdual a ****** again. Now that I had confirmed it, I told ----- not to use that word again. I explained that it was a well-known offensive word that should not be used by anyone. He replied, “I’ll say it when I want”. Officer -----, a friend of his, also stated that he would say ****** when he wanted. At that point I jumped over my front passenger seat and two other officers where I placed my hands around -----’ neck and squeezed. I stated to -----, “Don’t ****ing say that”.

this kind of **** is going on right here in my backyard....and it's not the first time it has happened in recent history...it's not over here but the city, including the mayor is sandbaggin....worth the read....

You have no basis for saying that it was covertly directed to him.
However, in his response he was claiming ownership of the English language. He had no right to do so. He should have appropriately taken the matter to his superiors and had them deal with it rather than take matters into his own hands.

There's a betting pool on his survival among Marines at Camp Pendleton. Odds are 3.3 to 1 right now that he makes it through the end of this month.
There's a lot of support for him out there and even more respect for his skills.

At least the MAYOR of Davao city Philippines ADMITS he has hunter / killer squads of police to shoot drug dealers......hahahahahaha.
Their assasin teams are sanctioned by the City.
You can go to youtube and watch government sanctioned "cleaners". It's funny to see the US reporter all offended and butt hurt when she act all incredulous at this known fact.
It's amazing, he does not deny it. He admits that it is part of the reason why Davao City is voted "most livable Asian city" 7 years running.

If even half the allegations in Chris' manifesto have merit, the LAPD is a government-sponsored criminal gang. Hello Pamela Harris, CA's AG, it is time to call in the cavalry. LAPD must not be allowed to "resolve" this themselves. Chris' street execution would likely prevent any consideration of this ex-officer's complaints. His complaints allege a culture of excessive force, intimidation, and cover-up. While killing people to gain consideration of such complaints is insane, I would like to see his complaints investigated. A bullying blue line does not serve society.

For those who don't get Bert's point, or think he's joking, the only way words can make the use of force a justifiable retaliation is if those words are meant to defraud, deceive, or cause physical injury to someone - in other words, unless they are, in effect, the initiation of force.
But insults and racial slurs, no matter how despicable, just don't rise to that level for people who advocate and believe in the nonaggression principle.
Not if we're talking about a single case, anyway. If it's a pattern of behavior, then that might be a different thing.

Steelhead, it is an open secret that the LAPD is corrupt. Been going on so long, who can stop it. Hell it is that way almost every big city in the nation.
While traveling back to the station in a 12 passenger van I heard ----- refer to another individual as a ******. And therein lies the problem of his being able to deal with reality. Anyone can go to U tube and watch video after video of rap, comedians and various hood videos containing the N word every other word by... wait for it... Blacks.
Then two officers (assuming they were non black) were using the N word. Here the argument becomes who owns the English language, as he is telling them they cannot use the word. Dorner needs to clean up the black community before telling others what words they can use in the description of another. If it was two black men sitting in the back using the N word, would he have acted the same way and choked one of them? Dorner is living in a double standard world.

Bert, I wouldn't go quite that far. Polite people still recognize that there ARE certain words that will get you punched - even if that's not the civilized response. Tim Minchin says it better than I can (and his punchline comes at about 2:40):

It's like I said yesterday. Going through the process of getting hired on as a cop and then expecting to find a bunch civil rights workers on the force once you get hired is about as ******* stupid as it gets. This guy was in the wrong business. And choking out another cop over the "N" word in front of his peers was the act of a village idiot. ****, no wonder the pigs wanted him out. That's why I think people who claim he's intelligent have got it all wrong. Intelligent people don't pull that crap. He's a liberal whiner. Did they blindside him? Yeah, I have no doubt. But he lit the fuse by dealing with his problems like an ahole. There are no good actors in this scenario. Both sides of the equation are rotten to the core.

I don't think its a double standard at all. I think there is validity in the changing "meanings" of words that depend on who you are directing them at.
For example, guys will use the word "bitch" towards other guys in a playful or boastful way that doesn't necessarily infer disrespect. But, it would be very disrepectful to use that word towards a woman.

Give me a break. The idea that Mr. Dorner cannot live in world where there are double standards is incredibly myopic and the furthest thing from the truth.
The N word is akin to talking **** about my mother. I can talk **** about my Mom all I want but if you start to, I'm going to punch you in the face. It's really that simple. Even if you've heard my whole extended family talk **** about my Mom, you can't.
Besides, as a white person, which I assume you are, why would you WANT to use the N word?

It's interesting to me that you focus on the N word scenario rather than the crux of the guy's argument of corruption that goes unpunished throughout the LAPD.

Not surprised in the slightest but damn glad to hear that.
The police are acting like a foreign military in our country. Our real military may be the only thing that can stop them.
I can't ****ing believe I just said that, but I do mean it.
