Uh, word on the street is that the governor of NY is sending out cop squads to try to get the people to buy into his new gun ban-and-registration law that he passed in the dead of night, violating every principle of representative government.

And they're getting... well....  not exactly a warm reception.

One of the guys made a great point about jury nullification.

It seems to me that having all 2nd Amendment supporters, blogs, organizations, etc., etc. provide a really hard push towards educating the public on jury nullification could go far to impede gov't at all levels in their quest to take away our liberties.

Consider billboards, newspaper/magazine ads, TV/radio spots, editorials, mass mailings, etc. I expect that would be a better use of NRA/GOA/JFPO/etc. dues than trying to lobby brain-dead statist politicians.

our governor's record on "gun control":

Rick Scott on Gun Control

A-rating from the NRA. (Aug 2010)
Opposes restrictions on the right to bear arms. (Aug 2010)

pretty clear cut stand.

Finally somebody getting mad over the loss of our liberties. I guess infringing on the 2nd Amendment is the clearest bright line loss of liberty that can wake people the F up.

IN news from the democratic peoples republic of Los Angeles (1) the gun shop was busy this morning and the racks are almost bare, seriously almost no semi automatic handguns left, almost no 10 round magazines for anything. Layaway is all you can do and then you'll have to wait 10 days while your guns in jail once one finally comes.

(2) several people I spoke to at the gun shop had the same complaint I am trying to convince my wife, waiting for her to retire in one more year, to move to Texas, any red state, anywhere else where I'll pay less taxes.

(3) Drove to the Autoclub to get some maps for business travel next week and a large percentage of retail shops on Santa Monica Boulevard (a Major thoroughfare) in West LA are vacant. Meanwhile the Dow's at record highs.

And finally, (4) The year round public pool across the street has been closed for "scheduled maintenance" for a month. I keep going over to ask when its opening. God forbid they could post a sign with updates, actually answer the phone, or put something on a website. The private sector does not act that way. Then when the guy at the Rec desk responds that he doesn't think that the pool will be open tomorrow as told to me last week, he rolls his eyes when I ask if he can go get or check with the Pool Manager who is back there getting paid probably surfing porn. The guy I asked at the front office was reading a book and his facial expression was like he didn't like being actually asked for information ( having to do any actual work for his overcompensated paycheck) from a tax paying member of the public that would interrupt his reading. I didn't see but I think it might have been Das Kapital

The pool Manager doesn't come out despite my asking for him/her by the actual bureaucratic title (I used to lifeguard there in my teens). Since it was originally supposedly "scheduled maintenance" and now supposedly the heater is broken and can't be fixed I am wondering if its not a way to impose a furlow on all the expensive over-compensated part time employees in order to stretch out the budget and pretend the City of Los Angeles isn't totally broke.

I am tired of the smug attitudes of the public employees who act as though they're entitled to feast on any income I can muster up and be way over compensated in relation to private sector workers in the midst of an f-in g Depression. Yeah I'm planning escape from this communist regime!

Maybe that community organizer isn't so useless after all, in addition to being the gun salesman of the year he seems to be creating a unity of purpose amongst those who are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
