RC: Sergey Glaziev, Vladimir Putin's economic adviser, recently said that "unconstrained monetary emission is a form of legalized aggression" because it allows some countries to use their "printing presses" to acquire real assets and at the same time finance their own "pyramids of debt". Do you agree with this view?

KD: Yes, for the most part. I have advocated a position called "One Dollar of Capital" that prevents this sort of abuse. However, it requires regulators and law enforcement that will actually punish those who violate its strictures.

How come everyone thought Japan was going to buy up the US in the 80s? Why is common sense not followed in regards to debt fueled money printing? IE If Japan quadruples their money supply by having their banks lend out enough money to buy up all of the US why doesn't the value of their currency fall to 1/4th of its previous value? Why is the US dollar so dominant today after all the doublings of the money supply that have occurred in the last 40 years?

If you think a bit about this you will also realize why the US has to take out all these middle eastern regimes who threaten not to accept the US dollar when the printing presses are active. The only thing that stops the printing presses is outside currency intervention since you can only oppress your own people right?

Great interview. However, I can't parse this psy-ops. Why would the Russians be interested in propagating the truth?

Snow, when the truth fits your agenda...why not go with it?

Russia is ok with a weak US. Because of this, they dont mind doing the work to show us the truth (both in this article and on RT before Laura left)

Snow I think you will have your answer after the 27th of march. Until then we will just have to wait and see.
On the same note Karl any predictions on the outcome of Durban summit?

Re:
"Why would the Russians be interested in propagating the truth?"

Countries that dislike the US want to hurt the US.
The behavior of the US has been generally vile for years in many ways.
The US is lying to its own citizens through mainstream propaganda outlets.
Thus, all that's required to hurt the US is to tell the truth about it.
That is why RT and PRESS TV are telling the truth, for now.
Take it where you can get it, but know why it's there.

Exactly Sean... You can bet your ass that if it didn't benefit them, then it wouldn't be in print. I'm still glad to see the truth find it's way out though.

Great job KD.

This is an interesting quote. Because it comes at the end and what is said last in any conversation is always most important. Russia may be using this question to sent or reaffirm a message.

Quote:
RC: Sergey Glaziev, Vladimir Putin's economic adviser, recently said that "unconstrained monetary emission is a form of legalized aggression" because it allows some countries to use their "printing presses" to acquire real assets and at the same time finance their own "pyramids of debt". I guess that is why they call it currency wars.

My random answers.

"RC: Why was there no successful third party candidate in the recent presidential elections? There seem to be a lot of issues which could have been used as "cornerstones" for a very successful campaign ran by a third party candidate."

Because the people are not*****ed enough yet.

"RC: In regard to real economic issues, is there a notable difference between the Democrats and the Republicans? If yes: what is it? If no: why does it happen, aren't the two parties supposed to be different?"

The way the Republicans cave to whatever Obama wants, I suspect that the POTUS has naked pics of the speaker with Pee Wee Herman.

I have taken a dislike to the word sustainability. The government runs around with their new buzzword sustainable this and that, when nothing the government does is sustainable.

I have long thought that Karl's best strategy would be to continue to be not TOO famous. God help him if he gets as visible as, say, George Carlin...

Of course, now that he's in such good shape, a "heart attack" is far less likely! smiley

The Russian economy is already ****ed up from 70 years of Obama type management. They are merely studying today how their rulers ****ed it up for those 70 years, since most of them weren't there at the time. Is there anything other than booze and arms made in Russia anyone would want?

karl hit it on the head. This is our economy the Administration and his cronies are sucking down the drain. All that debt that will either hang over the productive side of the economy or go into default is a consumption of the tissue of which the economy is built. Central planners either don't get it or they are in fact evil thieves, who draw enjoyment out of ruling over people. I'm sure Putin is snickering like Mutley, watching this fiasco. Then there are the Japanese, who are figuring out that if what they have done hasn't finished their economy, might as well keep on until it does. There is going to be a severe shortage of Kaopectate when this one comes unwound.

Why would a Russian medium want to publish the truth, you ask?

I bet the Russians are asking the same with regard to U.S. media.

Oh yes my dear Mannfm11, yes indeedy, there are things from Russia of vast beauty any man (and perhaps women) would give their souls for.

I live in Aurora, the richest postal code in Canada and the number of stunning Russian women per capita would put Beverly Hills to shame. I can't go out a day to a store without seeing and hearing the accent of another Russian beauty somewhere.

Now I don't know if the Russian mob has suburbanized themselves in my little town or it's rich horse fanatics or simply rich auto (Magna) types that have the Russian brides but let me assure you.

Regardless of 70 years of Communist ****ups there are certainly things from Russian this boy would covet. wink wink

i've noticed that RT is putting out the news as it really is.

why?

my theory is that Russia, after having their system (communism), now wants us (capitalism) to lose too. Of course what we have in the US isn't really pure capitalism anymore.

they went into Afghanistan, plowed a lot of money and blood into the sand, and then came out and basically went BK. i suspect the same will happen to us at this rate.

however, it will not be nearly as graceful as the Soviet break up was.
