FarceBook Is Out Of Gas

After hyping the ever-loving bejeezus out of their "announcement" for today, it's nothing more than the ability to search the timelines of people who you are connected to.

Whoopie. Facebook learned how to full-text index (e.g. GiST or similar) the data and restrict the display to you and those who you are "friends" with and their public timelines?

Wow man, my software has been able to do that for... oh.... since Tickerforum opened?

This was worth a hyped up press conference?

This is Facebook's "big announcement"?

This is all they have left?

This company is a zero.

I use a proxy and half the crap I see on the site is in French. What use is that to the new search function? They will try anything and everything to keep their user base engaged. I am skeptical this is a game changer from their users' point of view. I've stopped using FB for a while but it seems that the overhead to manage your privacy in FB is ever increasing with each of these new invasive feature roll out. I'd imagine now there's a ton of options a user need to tweak to properly set his/her desired privacy level.
