WHAT? Medicare Out Of Money in 38 Months?!

Uh....

You know how I've said that I believe that we're in entitlement trouble as soon as 2019?

I just heard on Kudlow the statement that at present burn rates Medicare runs out of "special Treasuries" in 38 months.

That's three years and two months from now -- or mid-2016.

Or three years earlier than my computations.

Uh, you know how I've been hollering that we must break the medical monopolies now or we're screwed?  Some people have said that's "unrealistic."

It's not unrealistic.  It's necessary.  With the "death date" of 2019 it was utterly necessary to do it now.

If the real date for Medicare is 2016 then we simply cannot get through this administration without dealing with it, which means the only two outcomes are that we take care of this now or our Seniors and Medicaid recipients will get screwed within the next three years.

Not some seniors, not some Medicaid recipients, all of them.

To the Republicans:

REFUSE TO RAISE THE DEBT CEILING AND FORCE A BALANCED BUDGET NOW.

AT THE SAME TIME BREAK THE MEDICAL MONOPOLIES -- IF THE DEMOCRATS WON'T GO ALONG WITH IT REFUSE TO BRING ANYTHING TO THE FLOOR UNTIL THEY DO.

This isn't about choice any more.

I don't think this is mere incompetence or a matter of ignorance. It can't be.

My conclusion: they are deliberately attempting to crash the system by overwhelming it. This is what a Marxist putsch looks like.

Prepare to defend yourselves gentlemen.

Arw, If you have money, they want it. Eventually they won't just want your income. They want your assets.

Gen, There is zero chance of the Republicans doing anything meaningful. Voters don't want it, so they won't do it. We're going to do this the hard way. Hence the gun bans. This is like watching a train wreck that's taking years and years to happen. Totally avoidable and totally inevitable.

Interesting... wonder what math this guest on Kudlow is using... I wouldn't be surprised if it was worse than Karl thought given the MASSIVE amount of fraud, abuse, and just sheer waste this policy is...

I've been practising the following words of comfort for Seniors and Medicaid recipients just in case we don't take the former option:

"Sorry about your bad luck."

Nice posts, Fraudster. I'll hit the ole agree button for ya. Not sure if we make it to 2016, though. Can't imagine a debt crisis dragging on so much longer; besides, when Europe or Japan goes bust, that will pretty much be the end of it right then and there.

They know that Humpty has already fallen off the wall. Now they're just trying to cover it up until they can't anymore.

You know what people do when they get scared, don't ya? They freeze. That is what you are seeing in Congress. Worthless frozen zombie automotons who are waiting for the right moment to abandon ship and take their chances in a life boat. Their objective now it to secure a life boat for themselves and their crony friends. It is one of the last phases in the life of a sinking ship on the high seas. Follow the phases in the Soviet meltdown prior to Peristroika.

Part projection of Debt to GDP ratio. Part rough guess, based on anecdotal observation of what is going on. Part expectation based on election years being tough years. Part observation that Japan and the EU look ready to implode, which will give the US a few more years. Partially based on the fact that they are targeting, but have not yet gone after, IRAs. Part based on the militarization steps that have been taken, and the pace at which they are being implemented. Part based on observations of student loan debt and the increasing rate of delinquency. Basically I think we are almost there, but not quite yet. My guess is it will be less than 5 years from now.

Arw, If you have money, they want it. Eventually they won't just want your income. They want your assets. ...

The Medical industrial complex is already after your assets, they cause half the bankruptcies in the US already today. A corpse in a hospital is an ATM machine for those .......********************

First and foremost the monopoly and anti trust must be broken, and then we need some death panels, and restrictions on benefits. Punting the age is BS... we just need to stop spending so much government/people/tax money in the last year of life. Just killing the monopoly will not be enough.

Do not forget the old age care facilities... Enough of the private rooms already at 3 or 4k a month, or higher if you are bedridden or demented, although in those cases there may not be much savings to be had. I suspect the staff there are already worked to death...

some drugs prices have just increased again at my pharmacy; many are up 40% in 2.5 years.
In some cases an ins co, even in gov plans, will not pay for a cheaper drug but the more expensive "better" version.

but banning guns is much more important than this topic don't 'cha know.
