Pie in the sky eh Brit?

Let me tell you what I think, which is what I do here every day.

I'm damned tired of both lawmakers and media people who lie through their damn teeth, and I've still got lawful things I can do about it that actually matter.

One of the lawful things I can do is to not spend money in places that are operated by, support, or in any way economically assist such liars and jackasses, with my focus being rendered on those who are closest to the things that I dislike the most.

In this case that would be these people in the Media, specifically Brit Hume and thus those who advertise on Fox News, along with Dianne Feinstein who thinks the Second Amendment is a joke and those who lease buildings managed or owned by the company her husband (Richard Blum) is the chair of the board of, that being CB Ellis.

So here's the challenge to all of you readers: Pick an issue like this, or two.

I happen to think the Second Amendment is a good one, as is the lying media on the fiscal issues -- the repeated claim that it is "pie in the sky" to expect the government to spend only what it takes in via taxes, and to cut the crap on continued handouts via more and more debt.

The latter in fact may make resort to the former more-likely.

You may think our youth will be simply forced to pay for us older folks as we become geezers on the path we're on.  Brit Hume may think my daughter, now 16 and unable to vote, will cover his Medicare (he's 69, born in 1943.)

She, however, having never consented to the confiscatory taxation necessary to do so, may refuse.  Her children, not yet born, may also refuse.  And if either refuse I will simply nod my head, irrespective of the means by which that refusal is communicated, because unlike Brit Hume and Dianne Feinstein I recognize that I have no right to compel her, or her as-yet-not-conceived offspring, to cover my expense as I grow older.

I have few means left available to me that are lawful to bring pressure upon both members of the House and Senate as well as people like Brit.  But my lawful means are not yet exhausted.  I cannot be compelled to spend my funds in one store over another, at least not yet.  I can lawfully refuse, and in the process of doing so I can tell those shop-keepers that I am refusing to patronize their stores and other establishments because they are furthering the economic interests of those who seek to destroy either our economy or our fundamental rights.

So here's my New Year's Resolution:

In this New Year I am going to identify just a couple of places to bring that pressure.  Feinstein's family interests and those firms with whom they're associated will be one.  There will be others.  And for each I am going to print up some business cards, and keep a few in my wallet.

When I come upon such an entity that economically is benefiting one of these persons via such a connection -- say a store in a Mall that is managed or owned by one of these firms -- instead of buying products and services there I am going to ask for the manager and give them one of the cards, then walk out.

There are 330 million of us.

There are 535 of them, plus a few hundred "high places" folks in the media.

If even 1% of the population prints up those business cards and does this, the brown stuff will hit the fan so hard and so fast, and the influence of this will expand so quickly, that all this crap will have to stop in the immediate term.

In short, it's your money -- spend it wisely and tell those who you choose not to spend it with why.

I would love that list.

I'd order cards the same day I got the list.

Agreed. Could someone start a thread with businesses to boycott?

Also, I like the business card idea and am open to ideas as to how most efficiently word the message on that card.

As a side note and suggestion; I use a Sharpie to mark "Who is John Galt?" on every single FRN I spend.

On Election Night 2008, I turned off my TV and didn't turn it on again for a full three weeks, and then just to watch a football game. At first my reason for turning it off was that I didn't want to see Obama's face or hear his voice. But as time went on I noticed that I didn't miss it, and seldom turned it on again after that.

By 2008 I mostly just watched TV news. I had lost interest in most entertainment programming long before. I found myself spending more time on the internet, where I could get all the news and information I wanted.

Over the last few years it's become apparent that the news media is nothing but pro-government propaganda in general, and pro-Democrat propaganda in particular. So I stopped watching the news, but I kept my cable TV subscription just in case I wanted to watch something.

After the 2012 election I decided (with a little shove by Ann Barnhardt) that my cable bill was still going to support channels and networks whether I watched them or not, and that even the entertainment and sports channels were spreading propaganda and debasing the culture. So I canceled my cable subscription and turned in my converter boxes. I have no TV at all now. I want to put those ****ers out of business.

I have refused and will continue to refuse to purchase anything related to GM or Chrysler. I have purchased cars since the bailouts and I make a point to go to a GM dealership and shop JUST so I can tell them why I will never buy another product of theirs.

I agree we have to keep the skimmers skimming. If you look at Washington DC, the city is filled with thousands of organizations whose job it is to get a piece of the honey pig. Its not the nation's capital it's a distribution center for taxpayer money.

I watched the food network last night and they claim 16M people go hungry in the United States everyday. I haven't seen an emaciated person in this country in three decades. Obesity is an epidemic among the poor. We have a generous foodstamp program, food kitchens, church donations and free school lunches. Even after we fixed the hunger program to the point the poor are ****ing overfed the liberals still cling to their dumbass 16M people are hungry. I wonder if they could be sued for fraud and false advertising. I might get rid of my cable tv as well.

Somehow the Senate got the tax hike without the spending cuts last night. The subsidies all showed up in the 127 page bill last night as well.

I have to tell you, my kids are between 5 & 11 years old & I've spent a bit of time over the last few months looking into ways to keep them out of the social security system. We have a few more years until they get sucked into the system. Hopefully, can come up with a plan by then. I don't expect them to pay for me in old age & I sure as hell don't expect for them to pay for some 70 year old strangers viagra or knee replacement.

So far, the only thing I can come up with is to buy investment rental properties over the next several years & then pass them onto my kids as they become adults. Additionally teach them skills so that they leave less of a footprint & need less cash.

the very first thing we should demand is that our congressional leaders take a pay cut by 50%, instead of the raise that they have just been guaranteed.

they need to be closer to the "little people" so they understand what the "little people" have to endure with all their BS legislation.

I hope you do the same thing and REFUSE to do business with ****tybank, JP Morgan Chase, Bendover America, The Notorious AIG, Golden Sacks, Wells F*ckup, Realtors™, American Express, Visa/MC, and all other big financials. Only do business with credit unions and community banks that didn't take bailouts.

Ummmm - I love credit unions - all my money is in them - but I am sad to tell you, they were bailed out too :

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424....

Here's the real problem : It is ALL ****ing crooked, from the very bottom to the very top. On the very bottom you have the FSA, and above them the unions and above them the farmers (getting ag subsidies) and above that the corps, whom most of us work for in one way or another.

It is all an interconnected web, and no one is actually free.

That being said, Pizza Hut and Autozone are on my **** list - they both fired/demoted employees for defending themselves.

The rot goes all the way thru and if you say. not me, then prove how none of the money you receive/spend is not tainted by govt or corp corruption.

We all contributed to this (albeit most of us were forced at gunpoint) - and it does not get solved until the whole thing falls apart.

Personally, I see the 'system' and the psychos who control it, as doing a most excellent job of committing mass institutional suicide.

Just stop spending all together. Only purchase what you need. Only drive where you need to go. Stop trading. Starve the beast of all taxes. Besides total non payment of all taxes this is the next best thing.

I like where you're going with this, Big G. The economic boycott during the Revolutionary War was at least as effective as the Continental Army's guerrilla war.
