I think we should ban all elected Federal officials from hair transplants, toupees, wigs, plastic surgeries of any sort, make-up and girdles.

That way perhaps we could scare the electorate into stop reelecting them and vote in some fresh blood.

It would be a lot simpler than one might think for the state to take away most guns by executive order. Make it a federal felony to discharge a firearm in the United States. Then set up a buyback program, the lines will be wrapped around the block in every city in the country. Once the vast majority of people are disarmed changing the constitution will be a lot simpler.

In the heart of Texas things are said outdoors. Where all can hear and everyone seems to shout. There is an anger here.

Deep in the heart of Texas.

Talked to a few that don't talk much. Scary lot these guys. Their practice dummies have only heads and they like to DOT the eyes...

Most quit buying years ago. Lot of these guys are selling. You better know someone that knows someone. Talking about buyin' or sellin' and the shouters get real quiet.

Nothing is far away right now. Just about there.

I expect that posting to any internet sites now brings unwelcome attention. Wholesale arrests should follow soon.

Everyone here should be prepared to decide.

This is not a drill.

Lets get one thing straight- if those guns didn't exist - all of these kids and teachers would be alive- they had rights too! The right to life to be safe and to grow up. We have regulations for everything we do-- why are guns and bullets so sacried. Why can't they be regulated- Sean Hannity has young kids- how can he look anyone in the eye this morning. He should be ashamed of himself.

Apparently, we need more laws and lots of them. /sarcasm here
outlaw guns
outlaw movies that depict violence, especially any form of gun/rifle..
outlaw tv shows the show demented crimal acts (csi and the like)
laws to force individuals to watch teletubbies, veggietales and the like
laws to tells us when to go to work, when we can go home, when we have earned a vacation, what we can buy, eat, drink, who we talk to, who or what we sleep with...

Seems to me the more laws we get in this country the more f'ed it gets.

they wont go door to door to take them

they will:
freeze your bank account and credit cards
flag your license for harassment by the police and prevent renewal or even tow your cars
cancel your insurances on home, car, business
turn off your utilities
issue a no tress pass for your children to attend public school
sieze your state and federal tax refunds
all types of statist things
until you fold

If they come to your door to confiscate your guns, it's too late. All you can do at that point is take as many of the MFs with you. Once they start confiscating guns, patriots need to start guerrilla warfare against the confiscators and all those who give aid and comfort to them. Make the mother****ers scared to go to work or show their face in any public place. Make them wake up sweating in the middle of the night. We also need to have property in remote locations in the name of a corporation or trust.

I guess I'm glad to live where I do where I don't depend on any government service to survive. Having subsistence hunting and fishing rights along with enough firewood to survive a couple of winters makes you independent of the power structure. I need to do some more research about wood gas maybe setup a beater with a heater to use it.

In all reality though, if the **** hits the fan, your best bet for long-term survival from the state will be to seek asylum elsewhere.

The solution is not for us to start shooting at the feds. The solution is for the states to start telling the feds ``no,'' and making it stick.

Don't waste your time on federal issues. Work to elect men and women to state offices who will tell the feds they can't do that in your state, or move to a state where that's reasonably feasible. Look to elect governors and legislators who will turn down federal money - that's the starting point, and that's going to terrify the feds like nothing else.

Are you freaking kidding? The states won't stand up to the Feds because the Feds will just cut off highway funds, medicaid/medicare dollars, Obamaphones, EBT cards, and enforce a no fly zone. Texas had a bill to make TSA groping illegal and the Feds threatened a no fly zone over Texas.

States rights, are you kidding me?

Take away the FED money spigot and many state and LOCAL finances tank nearly instantly. They can't print their own money and that's where the rubber meets the the road.

Andrew should think about putting some bankers in jail, who will eventually incite us to war rather than **** with private gun owners. It is more convenient to merely steal money for the state than to prosecute the theft of billions, driving the common man to a life of crime to survive.

I'm already working toward my plan. I'll retire to of all places El Salvador.

My son-in-law was born in Brooklyn but was raised by his grandparents in El Salvador after his mother passed away.
He came back to the USA when he turned 18.
He is a really smart young man and obtained his BS in accounting within 6 years of coming back to the USA by working his way through school debt free. He now has his Masters degree and works for Deloitte in NYC. His major account is New Century Holdings. Brighton Beach types run it though.

My daughter and her husband started construction of a vacation home there.
It is less than an hour from San Salvador and a modern hospital. It will have city water and sewer, high speed internet, and city trash pickup. 1500 square feet 3/2. Solid concrete construction. Metal roof covered with Spanish tiles on top , Tile floor. White stucco exterior. There will be a 8 foot high concrete wall around the 1/4 acre lot. They paid $20k cash. It will be complete by May.
Next Christmas and New Years I will spend with them.

Other than family why there?

No income taxes. The Dollar is the currency of choice.

The country has a 13% national sales tax and a 35% import tariff.
USA manufactured goods are exempt from the tariff.

Low property taxes.
$30 a year for the house they are building.
Low water and electricity costs.
$4 a month for water and sewer. $30 for electricity.
El Salvador has very low electricity because most of it is from Geothermal power.
No coal or natural gas needed. Much like Iceland but a better climate.

Medical costs.
Son-in-law's aunt for example had a pacemaker installed recently.
Hospital stay, device, and aftercare came in at just over $3000.
Modern hospital US trained doctors.

The trade off start here.

Gun laws are pretty tight. http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region....

Register and background check and transfers must be maintained in a database but no restriction on type.
Full auto is legal.
You must re qualify periodically.

Crime is an issue there.

The highest murder rate in the world despite being ranked at number 92 in the rate of firearms ownership.
US citizens are not singled out as targets though.

MS-13 is the biggest gang and in some areas extract La Renta from the population.

My first question for my daughter and her husband was about the security situation.
She told me with a slight laugh that MS-13 is not a problem in that town.

What? Why not?

She said that in the surrounding area that the people finally got tired of their crap and took care of them.
How? I thought the Police had their hands full.
The people did it themselves.
Despite what you read dad most people have guns but were tired from the war and were pacifists.
The young thugs forgot that grandpa might have been on a Death Squad in the war.
The gang pushed it too far around there.
Well what happened?
Well this summer they killed them.
What?
Yeah dad they rounded them up and shot all the gang members they could find. It was pretty easy since they had all those stupid tattoos on their faces. Over in El Cuco Beach they killed 50 gangsters and piled the bodies up on the beach put up a warning sign and took pictures. The surviving gangsters got word and stay out of here now.
You have never heard of El Sombre Negro? Well, they're back.
Only problem is that their existence does undermine the legitimacy of the government legal system.
If the government doesn't do the job though are they legitimate anyway?
Things are getting better there now and should continue to. The government wants investment. They can't have things get out of control again.
No matter what the people will not let it get that way.

I was shocked that she was so glib but so matter of fact about it.
What the hell was she doing thinking like this?
This is not NYC type of thinking.
She didn't grow up there but instead in semi rural GA visiting me on my dads farm on weekends.
Did we watch one too many Clint Eastwood western movies when she was a kid?
She did beat up a boy on the first day of High school for grabbing her butt in gym class.
She was in the minority at that School and it was her last day attending there.
They had never seen a white girl with that take no **** attitude.
Her mom withdrew her and moved to the next county over.

The next School in Peachtree City was the opposite end of the spectrum but not much better in terms of the student body.
Rich white guys with a new car, a $200 a week allowance but whose only ambition was to play video games in mom's basement. They had an entitlement attitude as well. Sex included, they weren't bold enough to try and take it by intimidation but thought every girl had a price.
She got as ticked off with their attitudes as she did as Mr Ass Grabber in Lovejoy.

BS to that as well. She home schooled and finished early.
Went to work at age 18 and started college locally.

Then she met Hector on a trip to NYC to visit my brother with four of her girlfriends when she was 19. He made it himself. Was humble and respectful but not a weakling despite his stature. A real man that didn't make excuses.

My daughter and her hubby have the minds of a pioneer.
That country is about where the USA was in the early 1900's in regards to the size and scope of government apart from the gun laws.
No social welfare programs.
If you don't work you don't eat.
Charity is voluntary not taxed.
The work ethic is still strong there.

They see opportunity there and can see the big picture about what is coming here based upon the elections.
They have options even if it requires hard work.
Do I worry? Of course I do.
My grandchildren will be bilingual , and tough mentally most of all.

Time for me to start learning Spanish.

you know what just popped into my head - I fear the guns of the police more than I do any hunter, militia-men, terrorist, robber or psychopath.
A few weeks ago an officer was speaking to me and had his hand over his weapon as if ready to draw. Now I am only 5ft7, kind of stocky, and look like a partially-seasoned deadhead, not your typical criminal profile.
Something is wrong with this picture..

I could work one summer in the oil patches of South Dakota hauling water at $30 an hour or better and pay cash for a similar place.
The hell with -40 winters though.
No more BS like the picture in my avatar.
Summer work in the USA, wintertime with the future grandchildren.
My 18 year old son and I will be going to visit his sister in next holiday season.
He wants to study Geology. He will love walking up the volcanos.
If he specializes in Petroleum geology he can work anywhere in the world.

My wife and my stepkids are the consideration now.
My wife can retire from the State in 14 more years.
She understands that the State might not be able to keep the retirement fund solvent.
If I was single it would be a done deal.

Daughter thinks that they can keep the total monthly budget in El Salvador at around $150 a month for Utilities taxes and food with the house being paid for.

OTC meds are so cheap there.

She is a research assistant in an Orthopedic Hospital in NYC and a biology major at SUNY Manhatten.
The hospital gives a 100% reimbursement on her books and tuition as long as she keeps a 3.6 GPA or better.
They live in the Williamsburg part of Brooklyn.
It is rather expensive there.

Her doctor spends hundreds a day on his scheduling and answering service.
She could set up a call center in El Salvador with college educated and bilingual employees with very little outlay.
She already has plenty of connections in NYC to make sales calls on if she goes this route after college is complete.

Her husband has already opened a bodega for his relatives to operate and provide a living for themselves. He also bought the one room dirt floor house he grew up in for another aunt to live in after it is refurbished. The floor will be paved and tiled of course. He is looking for investment opportunities there as well and his connections where he works are very helpful.

I have a brother in law that operates one of the largest highway construction companies in GA.
He has asphalt plants sitting idle and rusting.
He is already considering Costa Rica as an option for one of them.
Maybe I could convince him to send one to El Salvador?

El Salvador also has trade agreement with Venezuela for petroleum products.
Asphalt is cheap there. Gasoline is still expensive though.

http://www.numbeo.com/gas-prices/city_re....

Cool site to estimate costs.

I am trying to be rational about the future.

Natural selection rewards the flexible and adaptable.

It of course had been subverted here in the USA, for the short term.

Darwin will have his day.

I don't want to be here when it comes in its full force.

Note that this video was posted in 2 Dec. Their shop is probably empty now. Got a few chuckles from some of the stuff the bearded guy said (ex., the 400 yard Ruger 10/22)

5 Guns (and many accessories) to buy before a potential ban

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y88VNIeNS....

And I want to remind everyone that the 1968 Gun Control Act put in place because JFK was killed has been extremely effective in reducing gun crime. Right?

Also, note that JFK was shot with an 1891/1938 bolt action rifle, so we should ban bolt action rifles, too. Right?

And here are the firearms used at Columbine. High cap mags indicated with asterisk. Note the 13 _10-round mags_ that were used to fire more rounds than the hi-caps:

12-gauge Savage-Springfield 67H pump-action shotgun - no magazine, four round capacity - 25 rounds fired

Hi-Point Model 995 9mm semi-automatic carbine rifle - thirteen 10-round magazines - 96 rounds fired

TEC-9 9mm semi-automatic handgun - one *52-, one *32-, and one *28-round magazine - 55 rounds fired

12-guage Stevens Model 311D double-barreled, sawed-off shotgun - no magazine, two round capacity - 12 rounds fired

No, since they don't know who has them, they'll just expect you to turn them in and if you don't and somehow get caught with them...

It would be fascinating to know if the men who worked for the Cheka and the NKVD made the equivalent of 30/40/50 bucks an hour, with a great retirement at 55...

The Cheka and the NKVD working stiffs were willing to haul off the targets to the camps or to the forest killing grounds, on the say-so of some Party bossling.

If the modern-day Chekists come for you when you "somehow get caught with [a hi-cap magazine]", we know that first and foremost they're going to be doing it for their sweet pay. Ain't so sweet if you're not around to spend it. Is it a power thing, also? Following orders so they don't get arrested, too?

I just became curious to know if the State's bullyboy thugs had a similar sweet pay deal for LEOs like we have in the US, back in the USSR.

I know that our State bullyboy mercenaries have got a SCREAMING sweet deal when it comes to pay, which is why we'll have trouble with them when it comes to confiscation and searches.

If you can find a copy, try reading

Selected Speeches, Articles, and Press Conferences, 1949-1961

It gave me a good insight into how much murder went on in the Stalin era and how that sneaky bastard survived it.

I found it in a thrift store and hauled it across the country with me to read while waiting for loads.

Ulster's comment about sanctions and inducements is the likely way it will go. All out war isn't going to benefit anyone but control is and does and will. That way the controllers get the money, the heavies keep the power and get more, and the status quo stays more or less as it is.

When a standard background check is done for purchase of a firearm, anyone know if that information is put in your permanent record and you are tagged as an owner?
