Its 2012 the need for paying taxes was so yesterday. Why Governments can just borrow printed money at lower and lower interest rates for ever. Being financially responsible is for wimps. Heck if we keep borrowing money at lower and lower rates pretty soon there will be that much money around the Gov will be paying negative interest rates. the ultimate perpetual motion machine.

I don't think that "work less, earn less" is a realistic protest option for most people with mortgages to pay and kids to feed. It hurts your family more than it hurts the government.

Even if enough millions did it to get the government's attention, their response to less tax income would probably be more QE to fill the gap, further reducing the purchasing power of your (now lower) remaining income.

To get anything through the Senate requires 3 working days due to parliamentary rules. And since all revenue bills originate in the House, they can't do squat until the House does. And last night's fiasco proved that Boehner no longer controls his caucus. The only path to getting something through the House involves mostly Democrat votes now. You think Boehner is going to allow that given his speakership is up for re-election on the 3rd?

The "grand bargain" that kicks the can a year or two down the road is stone-cold dead. The shameless shills on CNBC, the knee-pad wearers at the WashPost and the pigman's Pravda WSJ may try to fool you, but don't believe them.

Thanks for the brutal honesty and truth of what needs to happen. I try to share your tickers and raise people's awareness but most people just don't get it. They are either willfully ignorant or just don't understand the magnitude of the reality.

I suggest for all future TV interviews you find one of those Barbie dolls that when you pull the string she says Math is hard (or whatever she actually said.) Then start into your analysis and presentation and at the end say this is what needs to be done but since the media and schools have dumbed everyone down this is the only response I get to a problem that anyone with rudimentary math skills should be able to solve.

At that point pull the Barbie string and let her say her line. People seem to need visual aids maybe that will help illustrate the point.

I love the word play, "fiscal cliff". What will be the deficit be if nothing is done? 500 billion? According to the feds: 1) Economy is growing at over 3% 2) Unemployment is decreasing. This budget bill was willfully passed, so what's the problem?
