Uh, so +683K get's adjusted down to +343K at a time when seasonal hiring should be at it's peak?
WTF, over?

Yet again, if you investigate no farther than the headlines, you miss the FACTS.
I really wish Wall St. would bother with all the facts, before reacting to this weekly "great" news.
Although, haven't these reports been good for a bump nearly EVERY WEEK? Possibly a reliable daytrade opportunity??
Hhhmmmzzz

How in the heck do you lose 683k jobs at a time of the year when there is usually significant seasonal hiring and many employers are reluctant to lay people off right before the holidays unless absolutely necessary? This is a terrible jobs report. Can't wait to see the positive spin on this one. It might make my DMDD act up.

Your weekly chocolate ration has been increased from 30 grams to 25 grams citizen. Rejoice. Deniers who fail to rejoice will be severely punished. Yes we have reached that disconnect level from reality.

Yes we have reached that disconnect level from reality. Well written, and that is exactly what's going on here. It's comfortable to believe a lie; it takes no effort, no energy and no thought. I think most people would rather be told--like a mother tells her child--that everything will be all right even as the house burns down around them and they both start suffocating. She'll die feeling good about herself, which is somehow more desirable than finding a way to escape the blaze.

BTW, if this report doesn't convince the last few holdouts that these numb-ers are completely cooked and almost entirely political in nature, then I kinda hope 12/21/12 comes about.

Last year, in the report that came out on Dec 15th, the value in the TOTAL column went up 900k. So I guess that's bullish by a couple hundred thousand. Here is the post from last year: http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=1....

I hate this whole 'adjusted' bull****. Just give me the actual damn claims number and I can graph them over a few years to see a trend.
I had a dinner with a PhD neuroscience friend the other day. I told her I was getting guns and ammo for Christmas to up my level of preparation for the coming **** storm. She got that quizzical look and said the economy is improving and unemployment is going down, things are getting better. Yes, she is a big liberal. No matter how smart they are they seem to take everything from Obama at face value. And because they are so 'educated' they think they are right and it becomes impossible to convince them.
When I told a teacher friend that he will only see pennies on the dollar of his pension he started yelling at me. This guy NEVER gets mad, he has the most amazing tolerance level of anyone I know by far. I spent 15 minutes to explain it and all he could ever say was "what, you think they are lying?"
My mom is already nagging me to buy a house while interest rates are low and housing values are going up again. Her entire means of information collection is reading the local newspaper front to back.
In short, despite all these smart people around us, most of them are still utterly clueless about what is going on.

Kinda like all of us humans here on planet earth, we have no way to escape the damage that Uncle Ben is doing. Only can mitigate to some degree...

That's not true all. There are, however, no people both willing to do something about it and take the consequences of doing so. "Unwilling to do what would be necessary and accept the consequences to escape" is VERY different than "no way to escape."

Oh thanks Colk! Hmmm now to overlay that with a percent employment rate of population graph to get an idea of those unemployed but not being counted.....
