The Problem With Benefits (CTU)

The problem with teacher union benefit packages and outrageously-escalating costs can be found right here in Karen Lewis:

This is what happens when you don't have to cover your own health care expenses -- not when you're working, and definitely not 30 years later when you're retired.

It's not your problem, it's the taxpayers problem.

Right Karen?

A picture is worth 10,000 words isn't it?

Here's another one.

I asked my 15-year old daughter "what's wrong with this picture?" without saying anything to her first about what it was about or showing her this article first.

Guess what her answer was?

Now guess why teacher compensation, both active duty and especially retirement benefits, is absolutely out of control.  I'll give you three tries but if you need more than one your sentence for your lack of intelligence is to stuff your head in a garbage disposal with the switch turned on.

One of my neighbors is a teacher beast. Most mornings her ankles are a deep purple color and sometimes she has to use a walker.

All these beasts need to get on my green energy plan. They just report to a government building, sit on an exercise bike that is hooked up to a generator and start pedaling. They can go home and get a reward after they've met their production quota for the day.

The one good thing is that when the medical system collapses under their weight they will die off quickly without their meds. Then if we're lucky we won't owe their pension payment to anyone and there will be more food for the rest of us.

She definitely likes to eat. Imagine what the rest of the world thinks when she's on the news representing the Chicago teachers.

Kinda like Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars.

Then they show the teachers with red shirts.

Socialist revolutionaries, Che Guevara part of Chicago teachers strike

For a movement that is contorting itself to be presented to the public as “for the kids,” teachers in Che Guevara shirts, complaining about air conditioning, that knowingly use their students and place extremist signs in their hands, without educating them as to what they’re asking them to represent, couldn’t be further from “for the kids.” Try, “for solidarity”—and “for ourselves.”

This is why the gubmint shouldn't be subsidizing anyone's healthcare. People should have catastrophic insurance only. Fat pigs should pay more.

Fat pieces of ****, the great news is these and the millions like them will be the first to die off.

People keep asking where do I invest for safety when it all hits the fan, the answer is it doesn't matter if you can't walk a mile without purple ankles.

Be healthy and no matter your net worth when it all goes south you'll be the new 1%

Someone very close to me was a member of the CAW for 40+ years (I'm not exactly sure if that was the name of the CAW back in the 60's but..) and he always told me whenever you see a union member on TV or one quoted in a newspaper, then you can easily guess that person was and is the most useless "donkey" in the plant, "real doh dohs" as they called them. They were always the loudest voices on the picket line yet the most worthless, lazy and ignorant fools inside of the plant.

I was a member of several unions during my twenties and I also worked in non union shops and I can't argue with the opinion above. I've seen and personally known the union members displayed in this ticker... they're naturals when it comes to getting a rise out of the members. They're the best used car salesmen around.. and probably better.

The union benefits were nice on the surface but given the choice I would take the non-union shop every time.

Funny how she's all about short term GAINS and long term pains.

Seems fine at the time to keep stuffing your face with ****ty food, but karma/science has a way of **** kicking you later.

Good luck lady.
(maybe time for an "obese tax" to offset healthcare costs?)

I dunno...there's another writer who believes that there's a "hidden agenda" (or maybe not-so-hidden) behind the city's campaign against the unions:
http://bastionofliberty.blogspot.com/201....
Quote:
In Chicago, the threat to the teachers is that they are against the system of new evaluations intended to weed out ineffective teachers and improve classroom learning. But that’s really code for getting the white teachers out.

[...]

Chicago wants to break the teacher’s union so that they can get rid of the white teachers and replace them with black ones, just as the DOJ and Federal courts want to destroy all the police and fire unions so that the whites can be replaced with blacks and Indian chiefs.

These public unions in big and medium cities are the last bastion of “white privilege” and must be destroyed.

This is funny, of course, since these public unions have been hand in glove with the race mongering Democrats in promoting “diversity” and destroying Protestant white America. These unions never expected the race baiters to turn on them, though, and come after their “privileges.”

See, look at all those $75,000 salaries that could be going to blacks and other minorities instead of whites. The schools will be worse, but so what, they’re bad now even with having all those white teachers. Why should we, the people of Chicago, keep subsidizing all those awful white people? Mostly black cities and their payrolls should benefit blacks, not whites.

Anybody else about ready to declare, "A pox on both their houses"?

Why is it ok to tell someone something when they smoke but its considered rude to call someone out that is obese? They are both choices and some could argue smoking is less dangerous than being obese. Oh and I cant stand the 'I have a thyroid problem' as they pull out of the drive thru!Bull!

Was in a training class today for computer stuff with a Boeing emp here in phoenix. She said they started instituting a health program where the emp is required to get a physical if they want to get ins from Boeing. A few years ago there was no such requirement. She assumes that next year or soon Boeing will use those physical #'s to increase for the that specific emp if they do not have good numbers the premium they pay.
