Just one more nail in the market's coffin, if you ask me.

Sad day for the rule of law and property rights... But we're getting what we deserve.

I've tried to educate my friends and family on this MFG **** from the start, forwarding all of KD's articles on it and a few good ones from ZH... The response was more or less a bunch of *Yawns* :( And these are smart, educated folks.. Weird.

It's like people don't get*****ed or outraged or worked up unless the threat is RIGHT THERE staring them in the face, prying their property from their fingers.

One thing is for sure.. Undermine the rule of law and you can guarantee NO recovery, NO growth, NO market... Without trust we go nowhere but down.

It doesn't take a blacksmith. Just a grinding wheel and a sheet of steel. Half inch thick steel plate ought to be enough. Then sharpen the edge and build a framework around it with a pully at the top and a hole in the steel for the rope. If it's not quite enough to do the job just make the travel a little taller and let gravity help you.

Perhaps I should add some steel plate to my preparations.

Why should anyone save any money nowadays? There is no safe financial institution to hold extra cash. And what good will it be in the future?
Short answer, to pay off local government officials in the form of property taxes and bribes. Also for protection - I imagine it very well might be necessary to provide cash payments to LEOs in order to keep them on 'your side'.

Unfortunately for me, I'm short of hard cash at the moment, after having a nice pile of FRNs tucked away - spent it all building the family doomstead. Hope it all holds together, more or less, for a while longer so I can build my reserves back up...

It is not weird, very typical of people. I have yet to get any response out of any relative or friend, other than I'm the one who is nuts talking about too much doom. I stopped talking and sending anything.

Occasionally, something will slip out and spouse will get angry with me, telling me to stop sounding like Armageddon is coming. Well duh, Wake up!

Actually, 3/16" thick would do fine. At 7.65# per square foot, a 4x8 sheet would weigh 367.2#. A lot cheaper than the 1/2" plate, and easier to sharpen the edge.

Guillotine too complex? Not really, but there are other options which will offer the same results.

Ok, maybe I am missing something here, but WHY SHARPEN it?!?!?

Seriously. Since laws no longer apply, I would think that the standard of "cruel and unusual punishment" no longer applies anymore either.

I was hoping you would write on this when I posted the acting-man link yesterday. This is throwing several hundred years of law in the trash so bankers can steal. The court of appeals isn't law. It is a ruling huanta that rubber stamps stealing by a class from another class of people. Bankers have been elevated to nobels. It is clear the next peice of legislation we need to get pushed through Congress is the outlawing of hypothecation and other manipulations that allow for the use of other people's money for collateral. In the meantime, I would make sure I had at least 90 days of high living costs in my matress.

We are getting rulings out of courts that border on insanity and disregard law. I saw a long time ago that the money in banks belong to the banks. We are looking at reason stood on its ear. Hopefully there is a corner of hell that is even hotter than hell in general, where these players will be locked for eternity.

What about getting securities out of street name via registering them on the rolls of the transfer agent in personal name?

Many stocks, especially those with DRIPs, allow this form of ownership.

Can anyone comment on this?

Bank of New York Mellon is one of the largest transfer agents and DRIP administrators. They are the trustee for RMBSs. I don't know if you even can get paper certificates anymore. I don't think so. Some of my best investing actually was in DRIPs. Doesn't matter. I'm out altogether.

Waiting to see if Treasury holders get to take physical collateral. Waiting for the day to come when it is auctions or consequences. Watch for overseas US Navy bases to go. It's almost over then because there will be a loss of force projection.

TMD,

I think govt knows the score which is why they down to the dog catcher are stocking up on ammo. If that isn't an admission of trouble coming, nothing is, and when it comes I believe it will all come at once.

Takeaway point being that when a satirical cartoon better expresses reality that there is a different set of rules for those in the party, best to get out of the game.

As for the 'there will be blood' comment, I think there may well be and it should be a calculated surgical letting rather than a gang style attack. Other options are just about gone.
